@Alessandro, this bug was exclusively on the drive being reported as not being used but actually being used and working perfectly. For the bugs related to graphic problems, reporting users were asked to report separate bugs. If you want to get attention to your bug it is better that you open a specific bug on your issue, attaching all the relevant information for your system, by entering from a terminal or with ALT F2 ubuntu-bug nvidia-common, or if you believe it is a Unity bug, ubuntu-bug unity. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk
suratta, this is not a bug report on graphical performance issues, but just on jockey, that is the Restricted drivers application that helps you in installing proprietary drivers for your hardware if you need to. The issue is that the NVIDIA driver is being used but it does not show up as such in the Restricted drivers application (jockey). But in my case and other comments here we don't notice graphical performance problems. I think that if you want to get attention to your graphical problems you should look for the appropriate bug report to comment there, or open a new one if you don't find one. This will provide much more information to the developers than commenting on this bug, where your graphical problem may probably get not the right attention from them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771788 Title: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/jockey/+bug/771788/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 650539] Re: Launching QT apps under Xinerama crashes Xorg : affects SpeedCrunch, KeePassX, Lucky Backup, Pencil, Stellarium, Skype, Google Earth, VLC, Konqueror, VirtualBox, Opera
Just a note on how to disable Xinerama, it was hard for me and may be it may help others. I was bit by this bug trying to use emacs. I have a Nvidia card and two monitors with Twinview, and saw Twinview as the option being used in the nvidia configuration tool. I also checked my xorg.conf and I couldn't see Xinerama anywhere, but I was still hit by this bug. So I simply saved a new xorg.conf file with nvidia- configuration-tool and now I could see the line enabling Xinerama in my xorg.conf. Commenting out this line and restarting allowed me to apply the workaround finally. -- Launching QT apps under Xinerama crashes Xorg : affects SpeedCrunch, KeePassX, Lucky Backup, Pencil, Stellarium, Skype, Google Earth, VLC, Konqueror, VirtualBox, Opera ... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/650539 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 564728] Re: Xorg/gdm did not start after Routine Disk Check on start up
** Description changed: OS: Lucid Lynx When the Routine Disk Check reached near completion, the screen ceased to display anything and appears to have frozen. However, I ssh'ed into my computer with the frozen display and was able to function normally, and when I checked the processes, no other processes seemed to be running, particularly any X-related processes or gdm. I then executed a remote reboot and the computer rebooted normally (since it did not perform another disk check).
