I can confirm this happens with the Asus Eee PC 1005HA-H and the same chipset: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Memory Controller Hub (rev 03) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) It seems to be accompanied by twitching in the external display from time to time. It will work for hours at a time and then just die, or it could die immediately after a boot. Unfortunately doesn't work on Karmic Alpha-2 too. Boot process looks the same as on Jaunty (as described in first message). Specs: Fujitsu Stylistic ST4121 Intel830 gfx Pentium III 933Mhz 512MB ram Tried 8.10, 9.04 and 9.04 netbook remix with the same result As a workaround, you can install 8.04 from 'alternate installer' (text-based installer) - downloadable from ubuntu site. This is the last version supporting old 'i810' driver, which works fine on 41xx Stylistics. Also, you can install 7.04 (and perhaps some olders) in the normal way - this is the last version which works from normal cd with graphical installer.
