[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 860050] Re: LightDM comes back to greeter after login in and nvidia logo

2011-10-21 Thread forevertheuni
hi. Check all the files in /etc/ld.so.conf.d and /etc/X11/Xsession.d . It you
added a line that ruins everything..I think that this is the place to look for.
Either that or make a vbox with ubuntu with a fresh install and replace these
two directories with original ones ;).
Good luck

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 860050] Re: LightDM comes back to greeter after login in and nvidia logo

2011-10-14 Thread forevertheuni
I don't really thing the problem is nvidia related. If I remove nvidia 3rd
party drivers and go with nv driver the same thing happens.
no gdm no lightdm , gdm is ok and startx is ok. It's like if when I do startx I
don't have .xstartup fileI purged lightdm and gdm and installed
again..still same problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 860050] Re: LightDM comes back to greeter after login in and nvidia logo

2011-10-14 Thread forevertheuni
Can someone close this. I've found it. It was related to /etc/ld.so.conf
I had a usr/bin/env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32/nvidia-current/ in
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/90preserve_ld_library_path and that was the problem
I removed the line I had added in the past and now it works.
