[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 269302] Re: At the GDM scree, Dell 610 laptop screen remains on while on a docking station and with an external screen connected
it's still there in a final lucid installation. If I recall correctly, it used to work for a while during lucid development. But not anymore. I've tried to do apport-collect 269302, but it failed saying no additional informations were collected with the following message on the console: Package xorg-server not installed and no hook available, ignoring. If it can help, there is no xorg.conf file in /etc/X11. -- At the GDM scree, Dell 610 laptop screen remains on while on a docking station and with an external screen connected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[This is an automatic notification.] Hi Emmanuel, This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you test if it still occurs on Lucid? Please note we also provide technical support for older versions of Ubuntu, but not in the bug tracker. Instead, to raise the issue through normal support channels, please see: http://www.ubuntu.com/support If you are the original reporter and can still reproduce the issue on Lucid, please run the following command to refresh the report: apport-collect 269302 If you are not the original reporter, please file a new bug report, so we can work with you as the original reporter instead (you can reference bug 269302 in your report if you think it may be related): ubuntu-bug xorg If by chance you can no longer reproduce the issue on Lucid or if you feel it is no longer relevant, please mark the bug report 'Fix Released' or 'Invalid' as appropriate, at the following URL: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/269302 ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: needs-retested-on-lucid-by-june -- At the GDM scree, Dell 610 laptop screen remains on while on a docking station and with an external screen connected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 269302] Re: At the GDM scree, Dell 610 laptop screen remains on while on a docking station and with an external screen connected
The bug is still there using current karmic. I've seen on a fedora 11 box there's an access to the screen configuration dialog from gdm. Could it be a workaround for this issue ? On a side note, it breaks badly the quality of the visual boot experience, as seen on the attached screenshot (which show the worst case, usually I get the gdm wallpaper tiled with 1024x768 tiles on a 1280x1024 screen). ** Attachment added: Capture.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31953476/Capture.png -- At the GDM scree, Dell 610 laptop screen remains on while on a docking station and with an external screen connected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
