YMMV. In the meanwhile, someone has suggested adding these lines to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf configuration file, in the Device section (mine looks like this): Section Device Identifier Configured Video Device Driver intel Option AccelMethod uxa Option EXAOptimizeMigration true Option MigrationHeuristicgreedy EndSection (It's been a while so I don't know who to attribute this to). This might or might not work for you. This was observed in more than one jaunty instalation for me. The fonts appear as if they were selected, but also very poorly rendered.
