*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 410267 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410267 I've tested my wacom bamboo model CTE-650, Gimp and karmic updated to this day (01 oct 2009). Just pluged-in the device, started Gimp, configured extended devices in the preferences dialog. The cursor behabes normally. Does the same thing on a Wacom Volito 2 (and it also affects Inkscape).
