Luis, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-evdev REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. More information, the problem also starts up when I call using skype and when I listen to music with amarok. More information, when I unplug the the keyboard I regain left button. This is not the same as 636311 as I don't use any of the media buttons or special keys. I'm having same problem. Flash completely kills my left button, also watching videos with VLC. Not sure if it's specific to my keyboard/mouse. Confirmed that this problem only exists when my microsoft keyboard/mouse are plugged in. Ditto on Maverick. Left mouse button fails after a few seconds of playing music or video on either totem or rhythmbox (Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) sound, in case that helps). Using keyboard with integrated touch pad, neither the left-hand mouse button nor tapping the touch pad itself work. Ok, I've reproduced it - pressing a volume up/down media key kills the left button on either a keyboard with a built-in touch pad or on a standard Microsoft USB mouse. I've duplicated the same issue with both a Microsoft wired optical mouse and a Microsoft wireless optical mouse: Playing a sound file via movie player / rhythmbox causes the left click button to cease working with the wireless mouse. When I restart gdm and do the same with the wired mouse, all three buttons stop working. When the clicks stop registering on my mouse, they also stop registering from the buttons built into my laptop. Also stops working after switching keyboard layouts. Worked in Ubuntu 10.04, bug introduced after upgrade to 10.10. xinput test (id of my mouse) outputs button press 1 and button release 1 when I click left mouse button, but clicks don't have any effect on any GUI elements.
