I upgraded everything bug the intel driver. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 420600] Re: xorg eats up all my CPU
I'm afraid I was wrong. It's suddenly in again, without installing the new intel driver. CPU is at 70% now (gnome-system-monitor 55%, xorg 10% + other processes) I can't understand what I did to trigger the bug :( -- xorg uses 20% CPU since 2.8.1 update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 420600] Re: xorg eats up all my CPU
Thanks for answering. My card is intel x4500hd and my xorg.conf is the default one (I'm not on linux now) What's interesting is that even the live session from the daily live cd has the same problem, while alpha 4 has not. Another interesting thing is that xorg is not the only process which eats cpu, but almost every process (with a non trivial logic of course) are using lots of cpu. What I'm doing now is this: test yesterday daily live cd and see if it works, then I will post the packages that ubuntu wants to upgrade. -- xorg eats up all my CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I'm trying to hisolate more the problem. I installed those packages which I was not suspicious about. And now I left those to upgrade.
