It was because the prepare script was processing *.reg

maybe this line could work better:
for cmdfile in `egrep -lri "URL\|($WINLANG|ALL)" scripts/$2.bat`

which means that you need to run:

I am not able to update those as I do not use those systems. Plus, you

a volunter (you?) for that.

I will review this list later this weekend, but Some updates are not
possible for me to update because I use a script under linux to update
all the languages and some patches ask for a certification of genuine
windows system.

If you do not want to detect drivers do not put any under
/install/drivers

Open a bug on the trac system for this. Someone could have a look.

no one is updating windows2000 security patch. Please provide new url
and I will patch it.

This is a cause of using parted 1.6.22, If I update parted then people
start getting a NTLDR not found

I have test another eeepc (a 901 model) and it uses a atl1e module that
is marked as experimental. So possibly that is the cause.

I have update the repository. so if you feel to compile that you could
test if that works for you..

Latest linuxboot does not use apic anymore. (Why do you want to hibenate

I can build up unattended with 2.6.32.8 as it has been released today.
But other than that you need to open a bug on kernel.org.
I had opened a problem with a sis191 network card a couple of years ago
without much success.

What make you think that is not a time consuming process for anyone?.
Unless someone put some effort to setup a build server within a share

Anyone with write access can upload and release (8 people), but lately I
have been doing it. There is a few issues that need to get fixed before
a new Release Candidate gets upload again.

The first has a limitation of 4GB that is why it is there. Please try to

Scott,
you need to ensure that you setup is right. On the linux server type this:

  pdbedit -w -L

and look for a line like this:
guest:1001::823893ADFAD2CDA6E1A414F3EBDF58F7:[U

so you know that the guest user is setup

I am not sure about this line on smb.conf:

map to guest = Bad Password *

Post questions about deployment issues on the general list, it should be

Hi,
I guess that this is a different issue. You can have a problem with sata
support. So the error is that unattended is not able to mount a disk.

But this is a local disk not a network share. Did I get it right?

Well,
perl.bat is nearly the first batch file that gets execute when the
system first boots up. I will try to see it If can come up with
something to get you problem resolved.
But I feel that speed is not important. What is important is that you

[Unattended] Scripts migrated to Trac

2010-01-02 Thread Juan Jose Pablos
Hi,

This was a personal task that I have got on my long TODO list. All the
Scripts on the old wiki have been migrate to trac. You can find those here:

https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/unattended/wiki/Scripts

There were around 250 Pages to move manually to the new system. I have
to copy and paste every single one.

Please have a look and update if you find info that seems out of date.

I feel that we need to find a better way to handle those. Use svn to
have the code and let the wiki only for complementary information (HOME,
Known problems)

you can find an example here:
https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/unattended/wiki/sun-jre

What do you think?

you need to get latest version of unattended from svn. Your problem
posibly is that you have a rather new driver. So using 2.6.32 kernel
maybe fix your problem.

They get installed automatic

make sure that on unattended.csv you have this line:

"Default","middle_scripts","aplications.bat"

actually on middle_scripts I have basico.bat (basic in spanish)

and basico.bat is:

:: MASTER: Install a basic pc
@Echo off

todo.pl disableupdate.bat iconos.bat
todo.pl flash.bat
todo.pl firefox.bat
todo.pl thunderbird.bat
todo.pl openoffice.bat
todo.pl sun-jre.bat
todo.pl adobe-reader.bat
todo.pl spybot.bat

I am using this in all the machines that I install

go to install/site:

copy sample-config.pl to config.pl

populate unattend.csv with your own data

it takes a lot of time, that is normal. Well, you can use ctrl+f2 to get
another console on the client side.

so, what happens after that, the machine gets reboot it?

I have forgot to recommend you to use debian instead of ubuntu on the

No one has ever had this error message as far as I can tell you.

Try with another system,
try to isolated your network if you can (use a lab)

you said that you make progress but you did not tell you what was that
strange error that you had previously.

a Ubuntu + virtualbox as a replacement?.

Up today, I had only installed a one machine with win7 and none with
vista, so I do not have the rush of getting that fix. But I would agree
that in the future that situation would change, and the pressure of
getting vista/win7 support will be must.

well, you need update unattended to latest and ensure that your

$u->{'_temp'}->{'scan_windrivers_path'} = "/z/drivers/" ;

some users reported a way to implemented, but I had not had time to
look at it.
If I can give me my own opinion on this, I feel that XP will stay for a
while, even MS is offering solutions (VirtualPC) to get it working in
the long term.

i think that you need to ensure that you

a) use latest unattended/install/site/config.pl
b) create a unattended/install/drivers
c) populate previous directory with drivers
