RE: [Unattended] How much is a multiuser license for XP pro ?

2005-01-25 Thread Don Morrison
Felipe,

Windows XP pricing differs greatly from organization to organization. For
instance, I am on the University of Nevada, Reno (USA) campus and we pay
less then $50/year for each full-time equivalent employee (FTE). This
covers operating system and Microsoft Office licenses for all my users and
my lab machines -- this is known as our Campus Agreement. I have heard or
other names but your best source for this information is at the Microsoft
site. http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/default.mspx

Hope this helps out. Good luck.
Don

Re: [Unattended] How much is a multiuser license for XP pro ?

2005-01-26 Thread Felipe Navarrete
You know Im not sure how they do it here at FIU. All I know is
that we have an XP corp. CD that I can install on any computer in the
devision
and an office XP CD as well. We probably have a similar set up to yours.

What Im looking for is something for another business that I am doing work
for. Im not sure what the user count is exactly but I believe it is no
more than
50 people. So Im wondering if I could get the Corp. CD thing for them
and at what
price(I really like automating the serial # and not having to type it
every time I do an install ).
I guess I will have to go the MS empire to find out what they offer. :)

Thanks,
Felipe

Re: [Unattended] How much is a multiuser license for XP pro ?

2005-02-11 Thread Felipe Navarrete
I have not tried that,
What does this actually accomplish?
The goal for the sake of simplicity would be to have
a set up like the one I have here at FIU, where I could
put one winxp pro serial # on the server in the unattend.txt(We have XP
corp edition)
and install all my machines with this one serial number. Obviously
I dont want to have to register with Microsoft online every time
either.
If what you are saying will accomplish this Please explain further
how it is done. Or point me in the right direction to documentation.
Thank you regardless,
Felipe
