Re: [UC] Apparently, some people haven't heard that Wendell Lewis is leaving
Glenn, in the holiday spirit, isn't this a time for reconciliation? Is that Benseraglio2 and Cassidy beckoning you? Absolutely! As a polytheist and Buddhist, I begin the new year on the solstice renewing my vows to struggle for world peace and forgiveness throughout the new year. I have already forgiven the barking cheese gang for its years of incivility and transgressions against our community. With great pity, I pray for their enlightenment and an end to their goal of censorship and oppression over others. I truly hope that they may one day feel connected to their six billion brothers and sisters and also their neighbors in little Mantua. May everyone on earth have a spiritual solstice free of materialism, oppression, war, and pride! Re: [UC] Apparently, some people haven't heard that Wendell Lewis is leaving
#5 Other Penn wants to dump Wendell Lewis in preperation for another push to establish Penn taxation authority, BID. They want a new perky face to appeal to the homeowner gangs. The recession and budget cuts create the perfect circumstances to use fear mongering upon selfish and unprincipled "anointed" leaders. (Penn appeals to the civic gangs for BID support by promising that homeowners won't be taxed initially, only greedy landlords.) Wendell Lewis's gag order certainly has him leaving under mysterious circumstances while voicing support for BID. After this usual delay when Penn temporarily backs off its powerplay, we should expect that the BID will be portrayed as enormously popular. The minimum objection period and minimum public disclosure will be attempted since Wendell Lewis has already "educated" the neighborhood about the district consumers dependence on UCD and BID. Paul Levy explained that Penn has been planning to tax us with BID since the mid '90s. They never stopped plotting. I suspect that they have manipulated the housing unit numbers in such a manner that they have the needed numbers under one calculation method allowed under the state law. Last time, they tried to push BID between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The tming suggests a similar push for Thanksgiving of '09 with some perky new face promoting it.. RE: [UC] Apparently, some people haven't heard that Wendell Lewis is leaving
I saw that in the UC Review last week. So if that's the case, can we just steal John Fenton back from Jannie Blackwell's office so that the "clean and safe" part of the UCD is actually visible again? In my humble opinion, that was the most valuable part of the organization anyway. Rather than promoting us as "left of center" or whatever the phrase of the moment may be, just let me be able to walk around the hood with less risk of being mugged. I don't care if we're left, right or smack in the middle, safe streets are my #1 concern. And getting my sidewalks swept occasionally doesn't hurt either. :)Karen Heenan 45th & Locust Sts.
