[Bug 403212] Re: [upgrade] sdlmame new upstream release 0.134
Hello Fabrice, and thanks for your help. 1. I agree, the watch file should not track unstable releases. I'll put it very high in my to-do list. :) 2. No, 0.133 and 0.134 are so called stable (major) releases. Mame developers agreed to a tight development cycle, with each release planned in about 6 weeks, during which a weekly u (unstable) update is released. Unstable releases may include major code refactoring or simply support for new games, but they are not guarantee to work for all users (as an example, I can remember a couple of builds which broke sound on my box). No major releases are done until regression tests are passed or nearly so, so I consider them reliable enough for the repository. So we have to stick with 0.132 for Karmic, as 0.133 has not been uploaded before FF and is still in the queue. On user demand, I run a site with unofficial packages for each intermediate build at http://sdlmame.wallyweek.org, in a very similar way WineHQ works. [Bug 439865] [NEW] resume from hibernate not working correct after hibernate from logon screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hibernate Following scenario works ok: I am logged on, select to hibernate; computer hibernates , I restart the computer and he comes back to where I was (or to the unlock screen). Perfect! And this works also for all other users of the computer. But when I hibernate from the logon screen, the resume is not working correctly. The computer restarts, ubuntu says it is starting up, but the computer never goes to the graphical UI. It seems to hang in text mode (there is hardly any message); even worse: when I then press Ctrl-ALT-DEL the computer restarts (actually doing a graceful linux shutdown in text mode). I can press alt F2 to login in text mode, and when I then 'exit' the computer starts the graphical UI en brings me back to the logon screen. Actually, I believe that the computer when I hibernate from logon screen, directly goes to text mode before it shutsdown. So maybe the issue lies in the hibernate process itself. [Bug 439784] Re: invalid: environment block
I just had a look at the fix, and I suggest a better fix would be to allow load_env to continue with just a warning if it fails reading the file. [Bug 439784] Re: invalid: environment block
What I meant is that I trialled your idea by hacking my init scripts as you suggest. You might want to test your idea further when I modify the script to just delete it the boot sequence still fails complaining about a read failure on grubenv. You need to say /usr/bin/grub-editenv /boot/grub/grubenv create. Not sure if /usr is mounted at that point, as everything on this machine is in one partition. The simplest approach might be to patch grub2 loadenv to be more robust when seeing failure. -- invalid: environment block https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439784 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs

[Bug 382737] Re: Create VM's using the successor of the currently used Ubuntu
Thanks for the bug report. Vmbuilder uses debootstrap extensively when creating the images, so you will need to update the version of deboostrap that you are using. [Bug 370932] Re: maradns init script silently fails during the boot, but works when run manually
I am one of the maintainers of software called HIP for Linux (HIPL). I tripped into this same issue with HIPL. I solved the problem as follows: http://infrahip.hiit.fi/cgi-bin/archzoom.cgi/hipl-...@freelists.org-- hipl/hipl--userspace--2.6--patch-2564/test/packaging/hipl- deb.spec.diff?diff Notice that we're using debbuild building system instead of normal debian one, but I hope you got an idea. We're starting the service in rcS.d instead of rc2.d. This is really a workaround, not a real solution, but it's better than removing splash. [Bug 439589] Re: Fails to build on Karmic, tiny gcc 4.4 issue
It might be something strange I had on my end at the time I did a test build, or some more recent change in the type in one of the dependent libraries that also fixed this, because I think uri-scheme was not originally a const char *. I will re-confirm that it still breaks without this, otherwise we can close it... -- Fails to build on Karmic, tiny gcc 4.4 issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
[Bug 439682] Re: remotefs fails to build karmic, gcc 4.4 strict aliasing
I had thought about that, but the actual type of client_address is conditionally determined from an #ifdef for IPV6, hence unless it is cast to a known type in advance, you do have to do the cast in line 240 because it might either be a struct sockaddr_storage * or a struct sockaddr_in *. Hence, I did not see a less intrusive way to solve this at the time, at least for all possible compile paths. If you suggest we keep the code change and I simply correct the Maintainer field, I could re-upload for that. -- remotefs fails to build karmic, gcc 4.4 strict aliasing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
