Yes, most times it does, but I think this might be more luck than judgement. When I was testing this, yes, most times it would create and write to a new log file, but it doesn't happen every time. Once a new log file wasn't created. Another squeezelite went 100% and didn't recover. Belt and braces I f Triode could add the functionality that "forces" the creation of a new log file and re-opens it, that would be good! PS. I packaged a logrotate script for squeezelite, some time back, but pulled it from the package when I knew that there were issues. I would seem kind of obvious, (firmware version), if other DAC's using the TE8802 are UAC2 compliant, and the Audio-Gd is not. It has to be down to firmware. Kingwa hasn't ever seemed to be very Linux friendly with the choice of USB->I2S being used in his DAC's. The first thing I read, although I suspect this was written rather a long time ago. 'TE8802EN: Doesn't work with Linux' (http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/TE8802/TE8802EN.htm). (Audio-GD site appears to be down, right now.) The Lua version of the web-gui isn't feature complete. It is a proof-of-concept. It's a, "I wonder how well a web server in Lua will work compared to the tomcat version". There are a few differences, between the internal workings on the squeezelite config pages. Not least, the audio device drop-down, which if you configure a hw:... device on the tomcat version and then switch to the lua version, that will show null, not the hw:... device, but you would select default:... or front:... from that list before saving. dsdreamer wrote: > > So overall, a very smooth experience. Anything in particular I should > check in addition to the above? Not really, the key thing with having a F19 R3 image, was to get the kernel up to the cm76 one, which added the fix for some users, whereby SPDIF didn't work at all. To update the Fedora packages, (some 250 of them were upgraded, compared to the versions they were at on the R2 image). To get squeezelite up to version 1.5, latest jivelite, latest web-gui. Add our "proof-of-concept" cs-web lua. I also removed a bunch of devel packages. But from a user perspective, it should be business as usual, nothing major, just getting to the point with a fresh image, where someone would be if that had updated everything there was to update, since installing the R2 image. I think I have a bug in the piCorePlayer menu regarding upsample, so that it simply is not used. Could you please try to add your command manually? So from the command promt first stop the squeezelite (if it is running). Use the "top" and find the process, something like this: 8827 1 root S25392 5.2 0 0.0 /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/squeezelite-armv6hf -n testafrestart -o sysdefault:CARD=sndrpihifi then "Control C" to escape from the top command. then sudo kill 8827 (will stop the squeezelite player) Next restart squeezelite with you prefered settings: sudo /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/squeezelite-armv6hf -n picoreplayer -o sysdefault:CARD..etc -u And this should restart squeezelite with your upsampling options, which I'm afraid wasn't passed before if you used the piCorePlayer menu -- sorry about that Steen piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi (25MB in RAM). Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Community Squeeze OS F19 Release 1
JackofAll, I've been running the F19 R3 image for a Wandboard Quad. Only tested on Ethernet with my TEAC USB DAC so far. I've tested LMS scanning my media library over NFS, and played back music at various sample rates, including DSD playback, both via DoP and transcoded to PCM. I've configured via the new cs-web GUI on port 8081 and via the old one on port 8080. No problems, except that I don't have access to hw:CARD= devices on the new cs-web, but have to use front:CARD= instead. I wasn't sure if these were functionally equivalent, although I checked that they both play music. JIvelite was tested via X using ssh -XYC jivelite@wandquad.local, and it works fine except you've forgotten to blow away the preference files, so the initial language setup and select skin dialogs don't happen. (guestfish --rw -a CSOS-Wandboard-Quad-F19-R3-20140117-1.img can be used to fix this on the raw image file without messing around with SD cards) So overall, a very smooth experience.
