Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Community Squeeze OS F19 Release 1
Hi JackofAll Over the weekend my Wandboard has got in a state. It started with losing connection with my windows home server, and then I found I couldn't complete a scan. Now I can't get access to wandboard:8080. Before I lost contact I did see some messages regarding not being able to write to various locations and I wondered if my MicroSD might be full. I was going to wipe it and start again (with the latest image) but before I do can you suggest anything which might diagnose or fix the issue so it doesn't happen to others? I did try looking in the scanner.log but it's empty (I can still connect to wandboard:9000), and I couldn't see a way to clear the cache or I would have tried that. Lastly, if I do end up wiping the card and starting again would you advise copying of some files like fstab so I don't lose all of my settings? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: JiveLite - cut down squeezebox control application
Triode, I've done a bit more to tidy up the vertical positioning of the UI elements in the different scaling of HDSkin. I was aiming to acheive the following: 1) Get all UI elements on the right half of the screen to stay within the vertical boundaries defined by the bottom and top edges of the album artwork (even when using non-widescreen aspect ratios). 2) Keep the metadata text confined to the top half of the vertical boundaries of the album artwork, hence each line of text is spaced apart by coverSize/6. 3) Spectrum analyzer space occupied should exactly match the space occupied by the album art, so that the transition between the two versions only differs in the content of that square. 4) Use a background texture to give the user an idea of the area occupied by the spectrum analyzer, even when it's not being driven hard by a signal. My current attempt at this could use some improvement, but I hope you get the idea. The four images attached are at two screen shots of 1280x720 (one with album art and one with visulization) and two screen shots of 1280x1024 (one with album art and one with visulization). The patch attached is against the very latest git version. +---+ |Filename: vertscale.patch.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15597| +---+ -- "Dreamer, easy in the chair that really fits you..." dsdreamer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12588 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98156 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCoPlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelite
Hi, I'm currently running SqueezeLite on Debian as a set of x86 virtual machines under VMware workstation on different hosts. It has been working great. I like the idea of a ram only based distribution and wondered if you could build a version that could be downloaded as a VMware virtual appliance? I use "nano". You can get it from the piCore repository by running the command "tce" hopefully there is enough disk space to add extensions. Just edit the file in place. You dont need to mount anything. After editing, run the command "filetool.sh -b" This will backup the file and make it stick. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Thanks, I'm trying to do this now, but it won't stick. I tried to mount the filesystem as -rw, but that doesn't work either and always claims "device or resource busy" so I can't change the bootlocal.sh I'm using ethernet by the way which is not even listed in bootlocal, but I guess moving squeezelite to the end of the line and adding some sleep time before it starts should work in any case. How do I go about this? vi is a bit new to me, but I'm pretty sure I got it right, but after every reboot the settings are gone, so they apparently don't get written to the disk.
