Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCoPlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelite
mmmhh, maby i was too optimistic. Sometimes it works, most of the times not. What it looks like (but not for sure): When i play the stream before rebooting it restarts after that. Oké. But when i was listening to an other radio station before a reboot, after rebooting the expected stream is loaded into LMS, but paused. johtem's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56859 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Hi All, I just did another "Auto start LMS" test using "production" piCorePlayer1.18 Initial conditions: playing random playlist Expected reboot conditions: streaming radio station ABC Ok Typed "192.168.1.101" into Squeezelite server IP (no port number, do not type quotes) Clicked [Submit] Cut and pasted "playlist play http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s99312&formats=aac,ogg,mp3&partnerId=16&serial=05edb36d50ac02d1d1eeaa23a487968a"; into Auto start LMS (do not type quotes) Clicked [Submit] Clicked [Reboot] Result: Music stops, piCorePlayer reboots, radio starts. Am I doing something unusual? I can't see any reason why it always works for me but not for anyone else. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Squeezelite and LMS use 5 or 6 port numbers and most people don't know what they are and when to use them. If you leave them out, everything just uses the default port numbers (and work). The start, stop, volume and so on buttons will only work if there is an active playlist. Did you have an active playlist? The Random button will generate one if you don't want to use another interface. BTW: Do NOT put a port number into the "Squeezelite server IP". > OK, activated debug logging. So if you are there hitting refresh while piCorePlayer is booting you will possibly get the "Squeezelite not started" error message for a second or two. The order is correct. You need to establish the communication interfaces (dropbear and http) before the squeezelite starts. This is because if something hangs during the start process you want to use the web interface to correct the settings. If that fails, you can use ssh via dropbear. Failing that, you have to you use a terminal and keyboard via HDMI. I added the Squeezelite running check because people were setting invalid Squeezelite settings that prevented Squeezelite from running. They then spend hours or days trying to get music when Squeezelite was not even running. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

[SlimDevices: Unix] Xubuntu 14.04 & startup sequence of LMS
I am running LMS 7.8.0 on a Xubuntu 14.04 server installation and am I having an issue with the startup sequence of the network and LMS. LMS, by default on my system, starts before the network interfaces. Therefore LMS is not able to log into mysqueezebox.com automatically. This means that I am not able to listen to Internet Radio. The network interfaces of my server are managed by NetworkManager and I don't want to change that. As a workaround I have added a restart of LMS in /etc/rc.local, but this is not a very nice solution IMHO. Is there a better solution for my problem possible? As far as I understand LMS is using traditional start/stop scripts and is not using upstart or other init-daemons technics, maybe that complicates the situation? zordaz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61726 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102220 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

The only solution was to download and compile the correct version of DBD::mysql from CPAN here: https://metacpan.org/pod/release/CAPTTOFU/DBD-mysql-4.025/lib/DBD/mysql.pm Do the classic perl Makefile.PL && make && make install. @SamS I think Hifiberry runs with the "hw" config in Picoreplayer and ignores any Alsa Buffer settings. Maybe it has it's own way of handling buffering, but Ibsimply don't know. You won't notice any side effects of running Alsa Buffer of 160:4, even higher values carry no risk. When playing synched tracks, it might be a problem if players have different buffer settings though. @Greg Erskine Can I used the new "autostart" feature to start the last played stream by simply entering a "play" command as parameter?
