The "save to USB" approach is not going to backup your piCorePlayer image. It is simply a method to save your config file with the new name: newconfig.cfg on the USB stick. So if you then boot a fresh copy of pCP with the USB inserted it should read the "newconfig.cfg" file so that you have e new pCP with your current setup. It is a way to update pCP via USB stick or to setup a piZero (without keyboard or connection). piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer - Backup fails
Ok, I did a simple dd for the first couple of 800 64K blocks so it will cover most of the payload of the disk. Booting the new device worked fine. Code: dd if=/dev/ of=/dev/ bs=65k count=800 still not sure how the backup and Save to USB function are supposed to work. [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer - Backup fails
the piCorePlayer is awesome but I need to replace the uSD stick for a smaller one. Therefor I thought: make a backup, prepare a new uSD card and restore the backup. Clicking Save to USB results in Code: piCorePlayer [ INFO ] Mounting /mnt/sda1... [ ERROR ] /mnt/sda1 has NOT mounted. [ ERROR ] Insert USB stick and try again. Clicking Backup gives no errors But both seem to do nothing to a USB attached memory stick with ample space (8GB) Is my approach right? Is there another way to copy the current image to another? Should I attempt a dd? Logitech Media Server 7.9.0 / Arch64 / 'Intel 945GCLF2' (https://tinyurl.com/km4fgcv) Living:'Transporter Second Edition (smashing wiki page!)' Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.00
Hello, I am trying the Hifiberry Digi+pro, after the Kali couldn't issue a stable signal. This time when selecting the propoer driver "Hifiberry Digi+pro" squeezelite doesn't restart. I rebooted many times, tried to change the settings back and forth between Hifiberry DAC Light+ and Hifiberry Digi+pro and it didn't help. Squeezelite will restart fine when using Hifiberry DAC Light+, but then the Digi+pro is totally ignored and output signal on I2S connector (P6) is the same as the one from the Pi... Has anyone here tested the Digi+pro with Pcp 3.11? On the tweaks page, might need to be in advanced mode under the jivelite section click the reset button. Jivelite will restart and you'll have to setup your configuration again. Make sure the player jivelite is controlling is the local squeezelite running on the rpi as the DisplayOff is not availabe to configure when controlling an external player. But works for the any player after the When Off setup is complete. >From what I've read the newer firmware remembers the backlight state between reboots, so if the on/off gets out of sync with the DisplayOff applet, you need to backup your config, shutdown pcp, unplug the power, wait 5 minutes and try again. I'm still working on a fix for this. Then, if you still have the problem, try reflashing your sd card with a fresh image. Thanks drmatt! The first problem now seems intermittent, so very hard to get closer to what might be causing it. Regarding the second, I have it down to a aplit second of noise now, after removing the module from modules-load and firing off a small stream of silence through a udev rule when the DAC is plugged/discovered at startup. Still a split-second too much though :(. --Marius-- Learnincurve's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107082 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
