Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Persistent network mount possible?

2017-08-01 Thread edwin2006

Still running ok for 7 days. Realised that at the moment of loosing the
xp share connection i had also every player streaming a different
stream.
So now i'm running 1x boom, 1x radio, 1x touch, 1x Pcp, 1x SB2 with al
different internet stream's. It's is weird that everything still running
ok (no offence to pcp or lms btw).
I can not stand it that the the problem can't be reproduced because now
i can't figure out what was causing it in the first place. Will run
current config for a day or so and than add the last player (PcP3.20)

Ronnie, great suggestion - that's exactly what I'll try to do in the
evening. I have a spare RPi2 that I could use for this purpose, will let
you know how it goes.

Thanks for your support.

When players are synced then LMS will stream data to seach player until
buffer reaches a "level" - there is no time constraint on this initial
fill. Then LMS will tell each player to start playing. As audio is
played, LMS will be requiee to "top" up each player in turn and make
sure eachplayer is in sync. If LMS cannot top up each player in time
and the buffer runs out - playing will stop. It "feels" like LMS
cannot top up the buffer to one or more of the player - this can be due
to network issues (e./g. different network drivers/setting) or extra
processing on the LMS possibly due to transcoding.

Have you checked whether the LMS setting of the max2play and the PCP are
identical - especially in the the area of "File Types" ?

Ralphy

Thanks for the response.

I have uninstalled the existing Squeezeplay version and downloaded
squeezeplay-pulse_7.8.0~996_amd64.deb from
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezeplay/linux/

Unfortunately I appear to be going backwards, as having followed the
installation instructions I cannot even get the Squeezeplay GUI program
to launch.

I suspect, being new to Linux, this will be down to my incompetence, but
I wonder if you can spot where I have made an error ?

I have followed the instructions in the README file and on the basis I
have a x64 system

casper@ghost ~/Downloads/PulseAudio $ sudo dpkg -i
squeezeplay-pulse_7.8.0~996_amd64.deb

Selecting previously unselected package squeezeplay.

(Reading database ... 205224 files and directories currently
installed.)

Preparing to unpack squeezeplay-pulse_7.8.0~996_amd64.deb ...

Unpacking squeezeplay (7.8.0~996) ...

Setting up squeezeplay (7.8.0~996) ...

The install seems to work, however I run into a problem with the next
command as there is no jive_alsa file in the referenced directory.

casper@ghost ~/Downloads/PulseAudio $ sudo chmod u+s
/opt/squeezeplay/bin/jive_alsa

chmod: cannot access '/opt/squeezeplay/bin/jive_alsa': No such file or
directory

casper@ghost /opt/squeezeplay/bin $ ls

cjpegjive libpng-config luac
squeezeplay.sh
djpegjpegtran lprof rdjpgcomwrjpgcom
freetype-config libpng12-config luasdl-config

casper@ghost /opt/squeezeplay/bin $

Running entirely by the seat of my pants I tried it against the nearest
thing ie just jive

casper@ghost ~/Downloads/PulseAudio $ sudo chmod u+s
/opt/squeezeplay/bin/jive

casper@ghost ~/Downloads/PulseAudio $

and then moved onto the next step to add a configuration line to

casper@ghost ~ $ gksu xed /etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu.conf

to which I added

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/alsa-lib

and its contents now show

# Multiarch support
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/alsa-lib

but on closing the editor and saving ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu.conf
I get the following console warning (not sure if these are significant)

** (xed:4064): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting
attribute metadata::xed-spell-language not supported

** (xed:4064): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting
attribute metadata::xed-encoding not supported

** (xed:4064): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting
attribute metadata::xed-position not supported

Running the following console command throws some errors (presumably
something to do with the graphics card)

casper@ghost ~ $ sudo ldconfig

[sudo] password for casper:

/sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib/nvidia-375/libEGL.so.1 is not a symbolic
link

/sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib32/nvidia-375/libEGL.so.1 is not a symbolic
link

casper@ghost ~ $

When I attempt to launch Squeezeplay via
/opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh

the first time I ran it the GUI hung at the initial screen (did not get
even as far as specifying language) and GUI was unresponsive.

Following a reboot the GUI will not even launch (either on its own or
via a console session)

I cannot see anything that appears relevant in the syslog file.

Coming from Windows I am somewhat stumped presently ...

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2017-08-01 Thread SteveLazer

Wanted to report a bug that I believe is in Jivelite. When you long
press on a music selection, and then select Play Next or Add to End on
the popup menu, a confirmation dialogue confirming it was added to the
playlist appears. If you then select the Now Playing button (upper right
arrow button) before the dialogue times out and disappears, instead of
going to the Now Playing screen, the last music selection highlights and
treats your selection as a "Play" select wiping out your current
playlist.

If you wait for the dialogue to disappear and select the Now Playing
button, there is no action at all on the first tap, and requires an
additional press to go to Now Playing.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer + Jivelite loses screensavers on power cycle

2017-08-01 Thread tkr001

Much as the title says. Running 3.21 full version and jivelite with an
official Pi 7" touchscreen. If I power cycle the Pi on boot I am taken
to the language selection screen where I have to select (in my case)
English. Backing out to My Music leaves the previously set screensavers
unselected. Surely the language and screensaver selection should be
carried over?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer + Jivelite loses screensavers on power cycle

2017-08-01 Thread paul-

pCP is a read only system, when you make changes, you have to explicitly
run a backup.

After you setup Jivelite, run backup from the piCorePlayer Applet in
Jivelite.or run backup from the web interface.
