I did it!!!

Turns out the stupid fritzbox has another username used for sharing that
I didn't set up.

Also changed the name of the share to remove the punctuation

How did you do that?

It's not letting me do that in windows

If there is a space in the ssid, it will fail when using newconfig.cfg,
but it will work fine from the web interface. we have fixed this for
the next release

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20

2017-08-27 Thread Wurls80

Downloaded 3.21 this morning and wrote the image to a SD card.

Added my newconfig file for Wifi settings as used previously (Pi Zero
and Pi A+) and put the SD card into a Pi Zero W.

It fails to load as it can't connect to the Wifi; I get the "Too few
arguments" error and it keeps trying two more times with the same
result.

Wrote the image again to the SD card and this time didn't copy the
newconfig file in, but ran the setup script on the Pi Zero W and set the
Wifi up from there. Reboot and I'm getting the same errors.

Wifi SSID and password is the same as being used by the other players
(PI Zero and Pi A+) with no problem; same router too. I tried plugging
in a USB Wifi dongle and rebooting but no change (I guess it doesn't
automatically use that over the onboard Wifi anyway).

What am I missing? Many thanks.

I've searched and can find other people have had similar issues at one
time but couldn't find a single answer that seems proven for 3.21.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] questions for a most basic portable squeezebox using PiCorePlayer and Pi Zero W

Wifi setup is a weakness of the Base OS that we use. There is no easy
way to do what you want, outside of building scripts to manipulate it.

I've added a picoreplayer package for the 3.5" waveshare skin to the pcp
repository

23508

and added support for the wav_ wallpaper 480 x 320 files to jivelite.
It is a repackaging of the zip file with the SetupWallpaper applet and
Thumb.db files removed and the wav_* wallpaper files moved so jivelite
can load them.

Make sure you reset the repository after installing the skin!

You will need reinstall jivelite to add the wallpaper support.

Note that the clock screen savers do NOT work with the 3.5" waveshare
skin.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] questions for a most basic portable squeezebox using PiCorePlayer and Pi Zero W

2017-08-27 Thread pippin

You could consider to use Max2Play instead of piCorePlayer. In my
experience it’s less stable but if you don’t leave the device running
for months at a time it probably doesn’t matter.
Max2Play now has a WiFi mode in which it automatically sets up a hotspot
to connect when it can’t find a WiFi network.
You’ll probably find more details in the Max2Play thread.
