Thanks Paul, in your own time. I'm helping a chap on another forum who
has the same set-up.

Just to reiterate that the power button and script work with pCP v5.0.1
on the rpi3B. :)

As an aside, I used this set up on the Rasbian Stretch OS in 2018, I'll
try to remember (google) the install routine and give it a go on Buster
when I get a chance.

cheers

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support

2020-01-15 Thread carsten_h

Hello!

I want to use a Raspberry Pi 4 as a LMS server with the piCorePlayer
installation. This will be no problem.
I want to place this into this case:
https://www.argon40.com/catalog/product/view/id/52/s/argon-one-raspberry-pi-4-case/
This case has a software for using the Power-Button together with eg.
Raspbian.

Does anyone know if this software button will also work somehow together
with piCorePlayer? So is it possible to switch it off gracefully with
the button?
This case has also been available for older Raspberry Pi.

The script for the button and the fan seems to be this one:
https://download.argon40.com/argon1.sh

[SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite on Alpine Linux

2020-01-15 Thread sodface

I've managed to build Jivelite for Alpine Linux armhf on the Raspberry
Pi Zero W. I used the source from:
https://github.com/ralph-irving/jivelite

No X environment, just the base install with the SDL, luajit, libpng
etc. packages added. The pi is connected to my non-touch monitor via
HDMI @ 1920x1080. When I start Jivelite I see "Jive Lite" on the screen
briefly and then it goes to a blank screen and that's it.

When I ran fbset originally it was showing 640x480 which I don't really
believe somehow, I set 1920x1080 in config.txt and fbset reflected that
after reboot but it looked the same to me. Jivelite did the same thing
when I started it. I can sometimes get back to the console by randomly
pressing some keys on the keyboard and when I do I see some messages had
been logged to the console while jivelite was running:

libpng warning: Interlace handling should be turned on when using
png_read image
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

I'd appreciate any tips to troubleshoot this, I feel like I'm close and
would like to get this working.

What happens if you trigger this initial scan but you move/delete your
clients' playlists first? In other words:

- Stop LMS
- Wipe or move the cache (except InstalledPlugins)
- Delete or move the CLIENTS' playlists (they are in \prefs, I think)
- Just to be safe, close all Squeezelite / SLX instances
- Restart LMS

Sounds pretty random, but without the clients' playlists I don't get
this error after wiping the cache.

BBCiPlayerExtra issued already noted in BBCiPlayer thread.
BBCiPlayerEXtra has a check in the install.xml to limit to LMS 7.* This
