I see Robbh's signature says he uses LMS 8 nightly. Maybe I should give
that a go.

Funnily enough I decided to try this morning if it was possible to

I also found out I had forgotten to expand the file system :(

Any way the second attempt, after installing LMS 8 (I only had to run

Well Michael has, on at least two different occasions that I can recall,
has advised folk that LMS 8 is stll very much a beta :)

I'm happy with 7.9.3 myself, I don't use Tidal or Qobuz, so have no need
of their integration and I run a separate librespot device for when I
use Spotify (which is not very often).

Because after "many moons" I've learnt both from proffessional work and
life in general that "if it ain't broken , no need to fix it" ... used
7.9.2 for quite a long time now and had basically zero issues. All
though on a Win install. Fed up with MS these days and little by little
converting to Linux camp. But it's a hard road ...

Now having 7.9.3 installed do you reckon it would work smooth going down
to 7.9.2 with same procedure and following your suggestions to not run
with the -d option, but add the -m?

Exactly what does "Manual download Link Check for LMS update" for the -m
option mean? Now when managed go down to 7.9.3 I don't wanna risk
anything. Spent too many hours on this issue already. From what I can
tell reading another post from mherger it doesn't seem to be much that
differs other than calling 7.9.2 "stable" ...

Yes I managed now also ...pretty weird not sure what's going on. Only
thing I did was changing from "7.9.2" to "7.9.3" in the "sudo
./lms-update.sh --mm 7.9.xxx -s -r -u -d" command line. Can't see the
difference. Very, very weird. Only difference thing I can think of is
that 7.9.3 is so called "nightly" while 7.9.2 seemingly is not? Most
likely the PcP guys know. Speaking of them, not sure about others ? But
now fiddling with this it seems like a good idea to have an option in
the Pcp's web GUI to downgrade also? Or an other option is to update
that update help guide to also include info about downgrade. I know what
scripts do but sadly have absolutely no competence of writing them. But
what I think is that it would be pretty straightforward altering that
*.sh script that do the upgrade to also make it possible for a downgrade
path?

exFat can be a little spotty, itÂ’s not a native file system. But take a
look at the dmesg section in diagnostics, see what it says towards the
end.

Lms has to be on the system for the upgrade to work, the second issue is
likely a server issue, as there are regex checks done when downloading.

I would not run with the -d option, but add the -m.

Hi all,

For some reason I was having some permissions problems with my NTFS
formatted external drive, so I backed up, reformatted it as exFAT and
copied all the files back again.

When I go into LMS, it's not showing me any external/attached disks that
I can mount.

I've installed the additional file systems, I've tried various reboots
etc (even uninstalling and reinstalling LMS entirely) but still no USB
disk being found.

I've triple checked the disk is OK on my laptop (it connects fine, I can
see all the files etc)

This is all I see though...
