The link provides an alternative and better way to achieve the same thing. Another way to allow the DAC to enter standby is to select an unused input. The optical input also does not allow standby if the light is still present when the source is off. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Last week, I installed picCore 6.1.0, and running LMS v8. After a few minor issues, I have it up and running and I can communicate with the 3B+. I see there is a new version of 7.0.0 and I am wondering if I should upgrade. On the first post of this thread, I clearly understood the following: Includes support for RPi 400, and CM4 modules. Support for 64 bit processors To be honest, I did not understand most of the highlights of the new version. I am using a 3B+, unless I want to use the 64 bit version, is there a reason to upgrade at this time? What are the new capabilities or features? Hello everyone, I'm new to this project. It is a month I have a RPI4 4gb and a USB DAC to play with. I have just done a fresh install of piCorePlayer 7.0.0 64bit on a RPI4 4GB. I have done my standard config adding a 64gb USB for music and configuring LMS, material, and USB DAC (Topping E30). I'm experiencing a strange behavior... when I turn off the DAC, after 5-6 seconds it turns back on. To be sure that nothing was playing on piCore, I have tried to reboot it first and then switch off the DAC, but nothing has changed. I have also detached everything from the DAC inputs, leaving only USB attached. This append only when it is connected the RPI, like there is a signal sent to DAC. It was not happening when I first updated to piCorePlayer 7.0.0 32bit from 6.1. Any clue about what is happening? What can I try? The biggest issue with 64bit are related to some of the Broadcom chip proprietary libraries are only available in 32bit. But those do not come into play with pCP, as we do not use the graphics part of the chipset. Just use a spare SD card and give it a try. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Hi When I created new images for my PCPs for 7, I was reminded of an HDMI problem, which is perhaps more relevant now with the different handling of HDMI in the new kernel. If you're using HDMI output, not all devices show as connected if the display or amp isn't on, or isn't switched to the correct input. In the old kernel, Squeezelite would still start, but not output video to the HDMI port. Now, with the seperation of HDMI and headphone, if you select HDMI output, but don't have that display turned on when you do it, Squeezelite won't start because the HDMI devices aren't available. To make this work reliably, you need to add Code: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_drive=2 to config.txt. hdmi_force_hotplug=1 sets the pi to use HDMI mode even if no HDMI monitor is detected. hdmi_drive=2 sets the pi to normal HDMI mode (Sound will be sent if supported and enabled). Without this line, the pi would switch to DVI (with no audio) mode by default. I wonder if it's worth adding a "Force HDMI Output" tweak to the tweaks page to write this to config.txt pete S psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I did have a dig around the Squeezelite GitHub repository yesterday whilst this site was inaccessible, and noticed a commit from the past two weeks pertaining to an endian problem with ALAC on both ARM and ARM64 processors. Perhaps that's the problem here? Hi Michael, thanks for the reply. So probably it is something with permissions or users... Let me first map the config to a map r/w for all users I have on the system. See if that works. The players were using "#Maintained by user" in the wpa_supplicant.conf. I have tried setting up a test encrypted SSID. AND it all works perfectly! So the problem seems to be that the Security Mode will NOT accept OPEN. When I first set up WiFI I seem to remember I had problem using the PCP interface hence why i maintained my own wpa_supplicant.conf file. But even that seems to be broken. I can set up a dedicated secured channel on my WAPS but I have 8 of them and it is rather painful setting up a dedicated channel for PCP. Just to flag the issue in case you have a suggestion.
