Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
Insitu upgrade issues on a Original Pi model B from version 7.x I had bluetooth enabled - tried to disable / remove bluetooth support from the webui an when the system rebooted I had no SSH access and picoreplayer didn't start. Connected a screen and keyboard and it appears some of the config wasn't being loaded correctly as a bunch of directories were missing in /usr/local/ Anyway I did a fresh install onto the SD card and rebuilt the config. I've now got a secondary minor issue which I'll take to a different thread. For many years mmap was set to 1 by default. This worked. Now, HMDI and Heaphones require mmap to be 0 in some cases. My guess is, even though we fixed the default mmap settings in pCP8.0.0 the wrong value was stored in your pcp.cfg file and not updated, until you did the fiddle or twiddle. :) Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.0.0 - Bluetooth Discussion
I had time to play. RPi4 in 32 bit mode works fine RPi3 has the audio glitches. Both systems were wired ethernet. And I used the same bluetooth earbuds for the tests. In all cases the interference throws no buffering errors(or any errors). And since the binaries are the same between the two boards, this puts it at the bluetooth chip level. My guess is that the older bluetooth chipsets are more prone to interference under the current kernels. RPi Bluetooth has always been a bit problematic. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Lol, we often bend the rules of some programs to make things work. In this case, since cdrom was not a dependency in kernel 5.4, but it is in 5.10. Thats driving the error. But I only added the dependency after releasing pCP8, so we never saw it through testing. Ill fix it today. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
InSitu update failed. From 7.0.1 on a Pi 4 with a 16GB SD-Card and 'just' pCP (i.e. no LMS). No idea what went wrong. The pi rebooted and from that moment I wasn't able to access it anymore. Not through the .local url, nor via the ip address. Since I don't have a mini-hdmi cable (nots to self: buy one ;-)) the only thing left to do was to flash a fresh image. That went fine. vco1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68036 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
