Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Getting Streamer for Audio Input to work with HiFiBerry DAC+ADC
Good. I should have suggested it a while back. Not answering the question you asked, but I have successfully run LMS in a Crouton chroot on an x86 Chromebook. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic. [SlimDevices: Unix] LMS on Linux VM in Chrome OS?
I'm curious. Is anyone running the Linux version of LMS on the Linux VM on a Chrome OS box? I don't really have a need to do this, but I'm curious if anyone's tried it and if there are any gotchas. Some USB dacs have input capabilities. No need. I resolved it. Since I figured further fault-finding would take longer than starting from scratch, I: - Downloaded the latest PCP build - Backed up the slimserver directory from the PCP card - Imaged the card with the downloaded PCP - Set up PCP and downloaded LMS - Started LMS to create the slimserver directory - Stopped LMS and replaced the slimserver directory with my backup; started LMS again - Selected the HiFiBerry soundcard in the Slimserver settings - Streamed successfully! I don't know exactly what was fixed, but now I can successfully stream whatever is playing on my main living room system across the whole house, in FLAC quality. Superb! A huge thanks to @paul- for all the patient responses. PCP really is a Swiss Knife for audio. A small donation is on its way to Steen. 👏👏👏 beneix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115692 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] could this be a Squeezebox player if pCP will install and work?
Thanks for the quick response and great to hear that the DAC works with one of the drivers for another card with the same chip set. I think that the IQaudIO and JustBoom cards have the same chip set as well. Look forward to hearing your opinions about the sound quality. I'm considering using the nanosound for my main server; allowing HiFiBerry Amp with touchscreen to become just a player together with two other Pis with HiFiBerry DACs. I've found that the touchscreen has become unpredictable in its responses since changing it to the amp rather than just a DAC. ajgg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72431 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113320 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Getting Streamer for Audio Input to work with HiFiBerry DAC+ADC
OK, I replaced my asound.conf with the system default that you provided, and set the input device to *hw:CARD=sndrpihifiberry,DEV=0* (this selection is made from a drop-down list, and this was the only entry in the list so I can't choose anything else). This yielded the following error in the streamer log: Code: ALSA lib pcm.c:2660:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM pcpinput arecord: main:830: audio open error: No such file or directory I then changed *card Headphones* in the pcm.pcpinput section in asound.conf to *card sndrpihifiberry*. Now I got Code: Recording raw data 'stdin' : Signed 32 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo arecord: pcm_read:2153: read error: Input/output error What else do I need to change in asound.conf? +---+ |Filename: Screenshot 2022-01-07 084248.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36693| +---+ beneix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115692 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
