Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support
I am happily running piCorePlayer v6.0.0-b7 on a new RP 4. I am always amazed that such a great project exists, and I hope everyone donates. Under one setup, I did have some pops occur between flac tracks with different sample rates (e.g., 16/44.1 -> 24/96). I blame the DAC/USB combination, though without much basis. I tried upsampling everything in order to avoid sample rate changes, but I didn't find the right squeezelite settings (poor google skills I know), and kept ending up with a squeezelite that wouldn't start. Here are my results from connecting what I have in different ways. POPS = piCorePlayer into Topping D30 (USB interface) <- my initial choice :-( NO POPS =piCorePlayer into Benchmark DAC3 (USB interface) <- incongruous pair? NO POPS = miniDSP with squeezelite into Topping 30 (coax) <- trying to see if the Topping 30 was always trouble NO POPS = piCorePlayer into Topping D50s (USB interface) <- this seems like a winner! I'm just reporting my experience so folks deciding on a DAC can have another data point to use in their decision. mkt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14921 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110727 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

There is a loud pop (makes me afraid for my poor speakers!) when I go from a track with a higher bitrate to one with a lower one. For instance, from 24/96 flac to 24/48 or 16/44. No pops when going from lower to higher bit rate. I'm using piccoreplayer 3.20 and the Hifiberry DAC+ setting. Any suggestions? Drivers? Settings? It's really awful. I saw a similar question here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107223-Announce-piCorePlayer-3-20-Beta=880311=1#post880311 but different DAC (?) and didn't see the solution. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Can't run SBS-7.6 on Fedora 15
I'm running an older nightly (r32517) and it seems to work, mostly. There seem to be problems with the scanner. I used all my google-fu to find something that provides libssp with no success.
