Slight flaw in your argument my friend, I live in Cumbria.

The transporter isn't intimidating at all as it's essentially the same

You would be exactly right there...I appear to have wasted everyone's
time, sorry folks.

I have just tried the T and SB3 optically and no go, the DAC will work
fine on the phono spdif now..

however, trying my sb3 the dac says 48k but with stutter. It looks like
the dac is not working properly. Return to maker I believe!!!

Yes it plays fine through the analogue output.

The non locking onto the opticla input on the dac is now suggesting to
me that it's the dac. I've removed it from the system to do some more
careful tests. Hold on for the next installment

In the meantime, thanks very much for all your patience.

I will put together a better log file as well as I am having problems
with the file size.

I may ask if I can upload to the ftp site.

I'm not sure anyone caught the fact that you're using an external DAC.
Does the Transporter play these same files successfully if you listen to
the analog output?

2010-09-21 Thread JJZolx

How is the wiring to the Transporter set up? Just a single patch cable
between the switch/router and Transporter, or do you have in wall
wiring and wall jacks and patch cables? If it's not a firmware or
software problem, then you have to start suspecting the network.

I think the first thing I'd do is reboot the router and the
Transporter. If that doesn't help, start looking at your wiring. Try
moving the Transporter to near the router and use a single known-good
cable between them. Also try using a different port on the router.
