 Richmond,

I had an similar effect (with a PC) some years ago.

There was short circuit on the motherboard caused by a little screw I
lost and then found it between the motherboard and the case.

After removing the screw and restarting the PC all was ok.

That sounded like a quick exercise so I made a plugin for it. It's
uploaded to RevOnline, look for Titler Text Images or search for my

open it manually make sure it's a palette.) There are a few options
included for managing both the image and the source field.

Mark came up with a work-around :

put item 1 of specialfolderpath(system) into Temp

Then strip out non-useful info to reveal system disk ID.

A sure-fire way of building file paths.

If you don't want that the user have to use fc-cache, you can give an

But you can get a list of fontnames with

put shell(fc-list) into tTempFontsList
set the itemdel to :
repeat for each line tL in tTempFontsList
   set the itemdel to :
put item 1 of tL into tL2
   set the itemdel to ,
put item 1 of tL2 cr after tFontsList

delete char -1 of tFontsList

If you want to install a user font then copy it into
/home/user/.fonts/truetype/

and in console type:

  sudo fc-cache

Now you can use that font with rev.

Thanks Wolfgang! I just tried your recipe and it really solves all my

(and I hope that Peter will feel that this is a suitable 'stop gap').

My only grumble is that I have to expect end-users to be proficient with
the terminal for sudo fc-cache. Unfortunately, as every end user has
adifferent

To keep the selection of a textfield visible while the focus is on another control?

2010-06-05 Thread G. Wolfgang Gaich

Hi all,

I don't know how to manage this:

On a card I have a field with text and a combo box.
With the combobox the user can change the textsize of the selected text
of the textfield.

That works good when I set the traversalOn of the combobox to false.
The User then can use the menu of the combobox while the selection in
the textfield keeps visible.
But when I set the traversalOn of the combobox to true, so that the user
can manually enter a textsize in the field part of the combobox, the
selection in the textfield disappears because the textfield lost its focus.

One way I tested was to store the selectedChunk in a custom property on
selectionchanged and when the user has entered the textsize in the
combobox and presses return or enter the textsize and the selection for
the selectedchunk (I stored in the custom property) of the field is set.
But there is a period of time the user doesn't see his selection in the
textfield.

Is there a way to keep the selection of a textfield visible while the
focus is on another control?

I hope you understand my request despite my poor english.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi

I am coming across problems when I attempt to search of my CERTIFICATE
field which is VARCHAR of length 3. This contains any one of NC, U,
PG, 12, 12A, 15 and 18. and my GENRE field which contains words such
as comedy, action, adventure etc separated by commas

This query for certificate 12 returns a list of DVDs

put revDataFromQuery(tab, return, tDBID, SELECT
uniqid,title,format,duration,certificate,genre FROM mainTable WHERE
certificate LIKE 12 ORDER BY title) into tData

However replacing 12 with U (or PG 12A etc) does not - it gives a
revDBerr, Unknown column 'U' in 'where clause' - and a similar
response when searching the GENRE field.

It seems to work only for numeric values in REV - performing the same
searches in myPGPAdmin everything works fine.

Any advice would be most appreciated.
