Well, my bad.

Right after sending the previous message, I realized the URL for 4.1.5 one gets 
from the download page
https://cassandra.apache.org/_/download.html
Is not a link to the tarball, despite the status message on the browser 
seemingly pointing to one. After following that link one gets a
Url that does work with wget/curl namely
https://dlcdn.apache.org/cassandra/4.1.5/apache-cassandra-4.1.5-bin.tar.gz

Something could be said about laying out those links like that, but this 
doesn't seem the place nor the time for it.

Apologies for the noise.

Hi,
The sha512 hash value for Cassandra 4.1.5 as reported on the Apache Cassandra 
download site doesn't coincide with
the value calculated  from the tarball.

The Cassandra team is pleased to announce the release of Apache
Cassandra version 4.1.5.

Apache Cassandra is a fully distributed database. It is the right
choice when you need scalability and high availability without
compromising performance.

This version is a bug fix release[1] on the 4.1 series. As always,
please pay attention to the release notes[2] and Let us know[3] if you
were to encounter any problem.

[WARNING] Debian and RedHat package repositories have moved! Debian
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/cassandra.sources.list and RedHat
/etc/yum.repos.d/cassandra.repo files must be updated to the new
repository URLs. For Debian it is now
https://debian.cassandra.apache.org . For RedHat it is now
https://redhat.cassandra.apache.org/41x/ .
