Re: product associations in catalog manager
Hi Heidi, You can refer DemoProduct.xml file of e-commerce for knowing more about this. We use ProdcutAssoc entity for association of one product to another and give association type to specify what kind of association is this. For example when we associate variants to its virtual product we give product association type = Product variant. Just refer the file which I have specified and you get to know the use of other association type. Considering going with OFBiz
Hello world, We are considering to leave QuickBooks for something more standard- compliant, cross-platform (PC and Mac), solid and flexible. After wandering around for some time, I've read about OFBiz and I like what I've seen so far. We are in a particular position: we are a small manufacturing business (13 employees), but with international needs (which often means many k $ in commercial packages). We sell and ship industrial attachment in different countries, will have to manage inventory/warehouses in different countries, need to manage do business in different currencies, let employees work from where ever they can be in the world and in their own language, have documents produced to our customers in their own language, and at the same time, offer our potential customers a nicer and more dynamic web front. If you are in a similar boat and have implemented OFBiz, I'd love to hear your story: who you are, what you were using before, how it went, how long it took to implement it, what kind of backend you needed to use... If you would give such comments, either in this mailing list, either directly by email, or on Apache OFBiz User Stories page (where many links seems outdated), I would really appreciate it. [Fwd: Re: Screenshots of Project Webapp integrated through Ofbiz - ZK]
--- Begin Message --- "Integrating OFBiz with ZK" would be fine - I don't see why a license would affect a Jira issue title. The way I picture it happening is you could upload patches, etc to the Jira issue so that others can try out your implementation and make recommendations. Maybe in the process of evaluation, changes to the framework could me made to make the integration easier or better or whatever. Once we have it working to everyone's satisfaction, we can create a ZK Integration page on the Wiki with instructions on how to do it. If you have a good rapport with the ZK developers, try to push for them to convert to the LGPL license. With a LGPL license we could bundle ZK with OFBiz. -Adrian milindpar...@gmail.com wrote: Hi Adrian I am willing to take it as far as it can go. With Zk, the UI possibilities are endless ( One of the areas of interest are mobile applcations that can utilize the OFBIZ framework in the backend). I am also willing to contribute back to the community as much as I can. However, the licensing issues (ASF2.0 vs GPL) may pose a challenge in producing a downloaded application. There is a lot of excitement from the ZK team as well regarding this. [They also want an application that people can touch / feel]. I am in conversations with their teams as well to see if we can do something here. I am extremely impressed with the overall architecture of the OfBiz framework and how easy it is to integrate ofbiz into different frameworks. While the videos from Si are good, I think that there are significant shortcuts through those videos particularly for integration purposes. I am interested in integrating zk with ofbiz; because to me, it offers the best of both the worlds. You are obviously more familiar with the ofbiz project. How would you recommend that I word the JIRA issue? I was thinking about "Integrating ofbiz with ZK". But because of licensing issues, would this cause concern? On a slightly unrelated topic, I notice that the discussions on the Project Manager JIRA issue is still open. Is there anyway to plug that with zk/ofbiz integration? -- Milind Adrian Crum wrote: Milind, This all looks good. Where would you like to go from here? Hi Todd, in arithmetic.properties you specify the number of deciamls to calculate. This rounding will apply for all currencies though. But you can do currency aware formatting while visualizing the amount in UtilFormatOut.java.
