Re: APIs for ofBiz

2010-06-17 Thread BJ Freeman

BTW EDI is a form of API as well.
it uses AS1 and AS2 which required encrypted and security keys.
The the service I provide, for suppler inventory, I use security keys.
this pretty much he practice for google, yahoo, amazon.

Re: APIs for ofBiz

2010-06-17 Thread BJ Freeman

also depends on what is being done.
if your not using a public face like ecommerce then if the intranets is
secure so are the apps.

Boeing for instance sets up security through routers to different locations.
I work with an API for Yahoo. They require the level of audit that Visa
requires, since they use Visa in their payment provider. it takes months
to get approved and you have to have the customer base that makes it
worthwhile for them to validate you.

Re: OFBiz business

2010-06-17 Thread BJ Freeman

I already was providing business solutions before I got into ofbiz.
ofbiz it self is not a main selling point. Most clients could care less.
when you talk about cutting their costs, reducing man power, and
increased their profits then they are interested.

Most are not ready for a hosted solution, and the costs to bring ofbiz up.
My main focus is order processing. I support those that already have a
webstore but no backend or feature like ofbiz, ecommerce. has.

using the current economy,as reason to "automate" and innovative
payments of the work done are tools to consider.

they say a good salesmen will create a need then fulfill it.

There could be a bug in the code, the entity definition is correct
because an entry gets put in that table when a semaphore service is
begun and then removed when it completes. The presence of a record in
the entity is the indicator that the semaphore service is being run so
any subsequent calls need to wait.

Obviously it shouldn't be trying to add another row for the same
service, it should instead be waiting until the row is removed so that
it can write a fresh row and begin the next service call in queue.

Re: Services semaphore attribute

2010-06-17 Thread Scott Gray
There could be a bug in the code, the entity definition is correct because an
entry gets put in that table when a semaphore service is begun and then removed
when it completes. The presence of a record in the entity is the indicator
that the semaphore service is being run so any subsequent calls need to wait.

Obviously it shouldn't be trying to add another row for the same service, it
should instead be waiting until the row is removed so that it can write a fresh
row and begin the next service call in queue.

Scott

Re: Services semaphore attribute

2010-06-17 Thread Chirag Manocha
Thanks Jacques, Scott.

I saw the entity ServiceSemaphore. Why the primary key of this entity is
serviceName ?
Like In my case when 10 requests come simultaneously, there is a service event
in request. Now service needs to be called sequentially. Now when I use the
semaphore attribute i.e. semaphore="wait", It gives exception:-
Message: SQL Exception while executing the following:INSERT INTO
public.SERVICE_SEMAPHORE (SERVICE_NAME, LOCK_THREAD, LOCK_TIME,
LAST_UPDATED_STAMP, LAST_UPDATE
D_TX_STAMP, CREATED_STAMP, CREATED_TX_STAMP) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)
