Sharan,

Your 2nd review with feedbacks (and there were many with such great
community) is fine to get something done along the great work you do.
I am in line with Taher suggestions of the top layout - hence the
site will be dynamic to adapt to future changes and suggestions.

Moreover, the content value shall be clearly exposed to allow the
target audience to get a RAPID graps of the OOTB solution vs others
alternative.

Could you elaborate on that? Sorry it's not clear to me :)

Thanks

Hi Sharan,

I looked at the structure and have the following suggestions /
comments:

- on a second review, we have too many sub-menus. This can be
overwhelming to people navigating the website. Instead, you might
take the content of the sub-menus and sprinkle it around the pages
- I suggest removing partners and making it part of the community
menu. It does not add a lot of value to make it a top level menu item.
- I would suggest reordering the menus to be -> getting started,
news, solutions, documentation, community, customers
- perhaps we can drop all menu items under solutions, and make that
part of the text and layout of the page

These are my thoughts for now. HTH

Re: Screen Rendering on Menu Permission

2015-09-17 Thread gil portenseigne

Hi Saurabh,

A solution is to customize your main screen to check the permission, and
include the screen you want following your defined rules :

action="_UPLOAD"/>
action="_OTHER"/>

location="${parameters.mainDecoratorLocation}">

location="component://budget/widget/budget/CommonScreens.xml"/>

location="${parameters.mainDecoratorLocation}">

location="component://budget/widget/budget/CommonScreens.xml"/>

Re: OFBiz Extensions Marketplace (OEM) - progress

2015-09-17 Thread Ron Wheeler

I was wondering about how commercial can an Apache site be?
Will it be acceptable to create/host marketing materials at Apache for
individual companies that are selling the extensions or services?

I looked at OpenOffice since they have an extensions library but did not
see anything for sale. All the extensions seem to be free.

It is on http://extensions.openoffice.org/
 Some of their extension include a note which might be useful:

https://directory.apache.org/commercial-support.html does have a a

I agree too and think it would be really great if we could do something like
this as a community under the Apache banner and infrastructure. I’m sure it
would take a lot of work and organisation but the end result could be really
good for the project (and the community too!).

As well as learning from people in the community that have already tried to
establish something like this themselves, perhaps we could also find out
information from other Apache projects (e.g Maven, Cordova, OpenOffice) that
have gone through this stage of offering addons and 3rd party solutions and
are successfully managing it.

Thanks

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your additional feedback and I also agree with a lot of the
comments made. By trying to incorporate all the previous feedback I think
I've made the structure more complicated than it needs to be.

I will update the latest proposed version with this feedback and hopefully
streamline it again.

Thanks
Sharan
