Welcome aboard David.

Documentation is one area where we had multiple discussions in the
past and it's in the process of getting updated. Take a look at our
discussion in [1] for example which we created a JIRA issue for in
[2]. However, we are very much in need of enthusiastic people like
yourself to help out because the framework is large and there are many
areas to cover.

I will make a few announcements and discussions on the development
mailing list so please make to subscribe over there if you'd like to
help.

The Mac won't launch software from an unknown source. Is this your problem:

Hi,

Hoping to contribute - mainly documentation to start with since I’m starting to 
learn OfBiz from the ground up to use with my business.  First thing I noticed 
is that the Getting Started link seems to go to a document that is now in the

Credit Memos - Please give me your process and opinions!

I have been struggling with the Credit Memo and Vendor Credit Memo
process for a while and I think this needs a real hard look.  Can
someone tell me the proper way to apply a Credit Memo generated from a
return to the Original Invoice from the sales order.

Here is the Example

Customer buys GZ1000 for a $1000 and is invoiced for $1000
He returns GZ1000 and is given a credit for $1000

How is that credit applied to the original invoice so it shows in
accounting that the customer no longer owes $1000?


Same thing on the Vendor side when returning a product back to vendor.

I recommend to use the Gradle task to create a complete plugin with all 
necessary structures and files, see README.md:

Create a new plugin. The following project parameters are passed:

- pluginId: mandatory
- pluginResourceName: optional, default is the Capitalized value of pluginId
- webappName: optional, default is the value of pluginId
- basePermission: optional, default is the UPPERCASE value of pluginId

`gradlew createPlugin -PpluginId=myplugin`

`gradlew createPlugin -PpluginId=myplugin -PpluginResourceName=MyPlugin 
-PwebappName=mypluginweb -PbasePermission=MYSECURITY`


The above command creates a new plugin in /plugins/myplugin
