I'm going to add fallback to flash in this case, it seems IE11 support
will be dropped in 5.0.0

I also tested the new room a bit. I think the new concept is great. Here are 
some notes: 

- When I enter the room, then only an empty window shows up and I have to 
configure my camera first via the icon on the top left and then activate. It 
would be a good help for normal users if an indication could appear in the 
empty window.

- The possibility to enlarge a video is very good. That you have to pull the 
desired video to the right, is only clear after a few tries. Maybe you can add 
a hint to this.

- The videos in the room should use all available space. 


- when I trie to use Internet Explorer, the error message 'enumerate decive not 
supported' pops up.

Can you point us to the 5.0.0 JS code you are referring to as a Web link?  We 
have written code along the lines below to seamlessly access media streaming 
sources by loading device drivers from the OS and can add or build upon your 
5.0.0. code?  Of course, if you need to review our code snippet, we would be 
happy to share as well.  (We are not sure whether this technical post should be 
in user@ or dev@).



We are keen on learning, whether your code:

· uses the standard getUserMedia() API?

· enables setting of media constraints while loading device drivers 
from OS, in addition to selecting media streaming sources?

· provides access permission from device drivers persistently?

· takes care of cross-origin calls that are deprecated?

· is limited by protocol-based calls:  HTTPS, file://URL ?

There was a discussion recently about some related issues. I think the best 
thing is for all new users to use setup link before entering their meeting 
room. Can be done from the dashboard (see below) or by providing new users with

I see. Does that mean you can have more than two people in the interview
room? I would suggest that the video panels default to the top of the
screen if there are one or two people in the room. Just my opinion.

Yes, change the "play" icon to red dot icon and make it larger. If possible
(maybe it isn't) make the button flash for a few seconds at the beginning
of the meeting, or show the hover text for a few seconds and then have it
fade away.

The layout depends on the number of windows in the room

by "change to red dot" do you mean to change play icon with red dot? or
maybe change background to red?
How can this button be more visible? make it bigger?

 device list is blank. For webcam it displays the 1st line and then an other

 It seems that this problem happens only the 1st time you set the webcam

I actually tried that but it didn't work from my PC (the file didn't load
back into the whiteboard). Unfortunately the file no longer exists since I
deleted it. :(

Can you check if this exact file can be uploaded using your machine?
If not the problem might be OS independent ...

Yes, the issue was with this person saving the whiteboard to her file
directory using the *toolbar disk icon*. This created a file but the file
won't load back into a whiteboard. Unfortunately I don't normally have
access to a Mac either. If anyone else does can you check this issue?

Actually WB contents can be saved multiple ways:

1) Actions->Download as PDF -> will export all WB pages with all
contents as images and create PDF out of it
2) Actions->Download as PNG/JPG -> will export content of current
slide of current WB and export it as image
3) WB->tools->Save as ("Disk" icon near "Undo") -> will save current
WB as JSON and put it to "Room files", this saved WB can then be
imported

Black background for PNG is most probably caused by issue with transparency

and with Firefox 61:

Save whiteboard as jpg, show it is painted but with background
black color whe upload it.

Save as png but when try upload it fail, and the same as pdf.

I'm trying the OM v4.0.1 on a Debian 9 server, the session went well but the
recording has no audio in it !!

 

I'm totally new to the system and I attached the openmeetings log file where
error messages are located in it.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, 've tested in mac 10.10.x Yosemite and 10.13.x High Sierra,
in the demo OM last release.

This is with Firefox 61.

When save the whiteboard as png or jpg and upload it, can see it
i've painted but the background it is black color.
If save and upload as pdf, everything look right.

The png saved to desktop have a background grey color but show
it is painted.

The jpg saved to desktop have a background black color but show
it is painted. 

In Yosemite 10.10.x with Safari browser save whiteboard as pdf,

As per my understanding SSL certificate is required for frontend
nginx/Apache webserver.
If we use RTMPS then we have to deal with keystone and truststore, right?

What if I use simple RTMP which tunnel through https, which settings should
I have to change for that?

And another query, is there any settings I have to add in nginx
configuration to pass rtmp request to openmeeting?

Dear Christian,

Could you help us understand a little more about the following scenario?

In Darshit's case, it is Nginx https + OM http.  In such a case, the SSL will 
be terminated at Nginx.  Only HTTP requests will be sent to Tomcat.  In 
addition to Admin ->Config (flash.secure = true, flash.secure.proxy = none), 
does Darshit have to do the following:

1. red5/conf/jee-container.xml:  UNComment Tomcat with SSL enabled section
2. deal with keystore and truststore?

All versions are latest with all updates
Chrome -> All green
FF -> Port fail
Cromium -> All green
Opera -> All green

will try to reproduce this configuration on my test server (hopefully
this week) ...

In the meantime I tried a few things but non of them worked out 
correctly. Nevertheless what I found with my current configuration:


- Firefox@Windows is working
- Chrome@Linux is working
- Firefox@Linux is failing
- Konqueror@Linux is failing due to missing Flash (could be overcome)

I thing the problem might be an old flash used in Firefox@Linux. I know 
there is pepperflash, but this is something I did not try yet (on the 
agenda still).


I just wanted to give you a heads-up update.
