What am I doing wrong? Here is my openmeetings-plugin-config (see Screen).

 Does someone has an idea?

I don't think WiFi or wired connection makes a difference. The same for
the browser. I am WiFi most of the time. When I go from 2.2 back to
2.1.1, from the same machine and browser, it works like a champ on non SSL
mode, still freeze in SSL mode. Sometime I don't see the all the
participates in the same conference room. It's intermittent.

 Hi John,

we got video once from the other end for about 5 seconds. We did also have
that black video window, or a frozen video basically from the start. The

difference, but we did use Safari on Mac and Firefox on Windows 7. So it
wasn't really any kind of success.
 We did install apache-openmeetings-2.2.0.r1522507-12-09-2013_0953.
It's setup with SSL and RTMPS.
On another note, we use the direct login and set up rooms with the REST
APIs (OM runs in an iframe in our application). Don't think it makes any
 difference though.

I'm wondering, could it make any difference to the disconnects in 2.1 when
you're on Wifi compared to wired network? We weren't able to pin point what
causes it, except when I let the screensaver start.

 Thanks,
 Daniela

Thanks Maxim. I noticed the performance on the 2.2 is a little better in
navigating, saving changes, and converting and posting files to whiteboard
w/o the big X. I will test long video session on SSL/RTMPS mode to see

Secondly, why is the jee-container-ssl.xml missing on the 2.2 build. The

As workaround you can try to do the following:

 2) start OM
 3) using mod_proxy set up redirect from
 http://om_server:8088/openmeetings to https://om_server/openmeetings

all traffic in this case should go through Apache, not sure if it will

 Hi,

we are running into a serious issue. While being in a room with video
and audio (2 people in a normal moderated conference room) it happens
 that
the video of the other person freezes (audio is gone as well).

Once the video is frozen, the entire application is unusable.
Meaning, if I open a browser and go to the site all I get is a blank
 page.
There's nothing, not even a Loading... displayed. This is for everyone
who's trying to use it, not just the person who had the frozen video.

In the red5.log we have this:

ldap_admin_dn= (wrong format, it should be something like

password errors. I have dozens of other applications authing against
this same AD instance, and I copy/pasted the username and password, so I
know all of that is right. I thought it may have something to do with
the bind user having a # in the password, but that doesn't seem to be
the case, since the bind looks to be successful. I've tried setting
ldap_server_type to both AD and OpenLDAP (per some old mailing list
threads) but nothing seems to change with that.

Does anyone else have AD auth working right?

I'm attaching (slightly anonymized versions of) my om_ldap.cfg and
openmeetings.log (I was unable to find instructions for how to turn on
debug logging for the current version; the only document that Google
 turned up was http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/wiki/Logging which
points to a file that doesn't exist).

I've tried my plain username with both a domain prefix (domain\username)
and without. With the domain prefix I get a Username not found error,
and without the prefix I get Invalid password (confirmed by the
 AcceptSecurityContext error 525)
This implies to me (am I wrong):
 1) bind to AD is successful
 2) without the domain prefix is the correct format
 3) The account can at least be found

Thanks in advance for any help, and many thanks for all the effort that
went in to a project that might finally free me (a desktop Linux user)
from incompatible or proprietary conference software.

Implies to me that the admin is being authenticated properly, but it's
 the user that's failing.

Just a thought looking at the
 loginUser: md5sum jantman
line... is this making some assumption that my LDAP server is storing
passwords with MD5, which I assume is NOT the case with AD?

 Thanks,
 Jason

I ran into the same issue when I first set mine up. What I noticed that
on the ldap_admin_dn, you have put cn=The_Actual_Display_Name followed by
 the rest of the format.

 For example:
  not CN:authuser,OU:MYORG,DC:example,DC:int
  but
 CN:Auth User,OU:MYORG,DC:example,DC:int
Don't use the account login name authuser in the Account tab in the
account details but rather display name in the OU that contains the Display
 name for that login name.

Re: Video Frozen - OpenMeetings/Red5 stuck

2013-09-07 Thread John Tran
Thank you Maxim for the reply. I have such a problem getting SSL to work
on standard port (443) that is below 1024 w/o root. I'll wait for your
red5 update in 2.1 branch. Once that is done, I would be happy to rebuilt
my Linux OS and OM211 from scratch, test it out, and report back.

I'm not very good in SSL configuration :(

It seems like red5 is not very stable while it is over SSL :(
As workaround you can try to do the following:

 1) close 1935 port on your server
 2) start OM
 3) using mod_proxy set up redirect from http://om_server:8088/openmeetingsto
 https://om_server/openmeetings

all traffic in this case should go through Apache, not sure if it will
 work (i believe it should)

I'll try to update red5 in 2.1 branch and if it all will be more stable
 maybe we can release 2.2.0

If you can help and try intermediate builds and report back if it works
better or not it might help :)

 ** **

 Hi,

 ** **

we are running into a serious issue. While being in a room with video
and audio (2 people in a normal moderated conference room) it happens that
the video of the other person freezes (audio is gone as well).

Once the video is frozen, the entire application is unusable. Meaning,
if I open a browser and go to the site all I get is a blank page. There's
nothing, not even a Loading... displayed. This is for everyone who's
trying to use it, not just the person who had the frozen video.

(Colorado) | 26 |
| 41 | Canada (northeastern British Columbia), Mexico (Sonora), USA
(Arizona) | 26 |
| 42 | Vancouver, Portland, Las Vegas,
California | 27 |

RTMPS and SSL configuration

2013-08-19 Thread John Tran
OM Support Community -

I am trying to configure for RTMPS and SSL. I just can't get it work. I
did exactly what shown on the documenation for RTMPS and SSL and it just
does not work. When checking the red5.log files, it said something
...denied port 443

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit with OM 2.11. The entire install was
done as root.

Thank you and hope you from the end user community.
