Aren't most states this way? No, only 22 according to http://www.nrtw.org/rtws.org - however, they don't include Maryland, and it hasn't been updated since 2003, it seems. I don't think that you're describing a "right to work" state - it's something more extreme - an "employer's rights" state. "Right to work" just says that nobody (almost) can be forced to join a union. -- derek - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: [OT] M Galbreath
Actually there would not have to be an ethics clause. Maryland is a right to work state so the employer can fire you at any time for any reason. Aren't most states this way? Not that I get fired but I would love to know where in the US it is different. I know in some European countries (for instance) it is very different and almost impossible (or at least financially difficult) to fire someone (Netherlands for instance) Al -Original Message- From: Nick Andros [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 06, 2005 3:28 PM To: Struts Users Mailing List Subject: Re: [OT] M Galbreath > Oh, please. If you ever read your employment agreement, you'll see that they have the right to monitor anything and everything you do online while at work. Now if he was spouting off the same ignorant, profane stuff on this list from home and he got canned because of THAT, then it'd be a different story. There'd have to be some sort of ethics clause in his contract explicitly prohibiting that type of behavior (highly unlikely). In either case, I doubt we've heard the last of him. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
