Did you run mvn clean install with developer profile and was it successful?

The HTML is being dumped like this (pasted as plain text):

These are all forms and I expect that having auth and application forms

Is there somewhere I should report this behaviour?

Provide a single network where each VM instance is assigned an IP
directly from the network. Guest isolation can be provided through
layer-3 means such as security groups (IP address source filtering).

Basic
For more sophisticated network topologies. This network model provides
the most flexibility in defining guest networks and providing custom
network offerings such as firewall, VPN, or load balancer support.

Advanced
Isolation Mode
Choose this if you wish to use security groups to provide guest VM
isolation.

Security Groups
A zone is the largest organizational unit in CloudStack, and it
typically corresponds to a single datacenter. Zones provide physical
isolation and redundancy. A zone consists of one or more pods (each of
which contains hosts and primary storage servers) and a secondary
storage server which is shared by all pods in the zone.

Physical Network

Guest Traffic
Storage Traffic

When adding an advanced zone, you need to set up one or more physical
networks. Each network corresponds to a NIC on the hypervisor. Each
physical network can carry one or more types of traffic, with certain
restrictions on how they may be combined.

Drag and drop one or more traffic types onto each physical network.
When adding a basic zone, you can set up one physical network, which
corresponds to a NIC on the hypervisor. The network carries several
types of traffic.

You may also drag and drop other traffic types onto the physical network.

Hi Piers,

What is the version of CloudStack are you using? Was this installed from
deb/rpms repository or built/ran from source?

Can you check if you’ve put any tomcat or front proxy/lb config that is
restricting it to load css and js files?

No this direct to the server.

Note: I am / have been reinstalling the DB and starting from scratch a

Sometimes the connection times out and other times it does not.

I've just run it again from scratch and restarted libv tomcat agent and
management and I have a whitescreen

Piers, what you shared is not helpful, first check that the management server
is able to communicate with the MySQL server and there is not much latency
between these two servers.

For users, I recommend using the 4.3.0 release for now and avoid using 4.4.0
release.

One of the key things to me as a user is having dependencies managed by

Happy to help.

Don’t run tomcat6. Make sure you don’t have both tomcat6 and
cloudstack-management running, in which case just stop tomcat6 and restart
management server.

recent changes at Citrix

2014-09-09 Thread Giles Sirett
Hi all

[writing as Giles, the community member, NOT as a PMC member or in any sort of
official capacity]

As I'm sure many of you are aware, there has been some recent management
changes within Citrix cloud with Sameer, Shannon and Sheng all departing. I've
enjoyed getting to know these guys over the past couple of years and I wish
them well in what they decide to do in the future

Whats this got to do with *APACHE* Cloudstack ?
Well, in the last few days, some commentators & bloggers have added up 2 with 2
and come up with 1064. They've then done it again and come up with another 1064.

If you believe these guys, some personnel changes at Citrix means that
CloudStack is doomed and we're not going to have a project to work on. The
world is going to stop.
http://images.infoworld.com/d/cloud-computing/cloudstack-losing-openstack-takes-its-ball-and-goes-home-249978?source=rss_cloud_computing

As you all know, CloudStack is much much more than a Citrix project these days.
Whilst we all acknowledge here the valuable contribution that Citrix make by
allowing many people here to be involved in this project: it is very important
to remember that we are a community of individual contributors. Our PMC,
committers and contributors continue to be drawn from a wider and wider pool of
organisations .

I see user adoption increasing, downloads I'm told are increasing and our
developer community getting more and more active & diverse.
Personally, I find it quite insulting to all of the people who work so hard
here that a "journalist" could paint the picture that CloudStack is all about 3
people (however instrumental guys like Sheng were initially)

I don't work for Citrix, so I can't comment on whether there is a change in
heart there, but the fact that these guys leaving more or less exactly 3
years after the cloud.com acquisition says to me that this is something that
was always going to happen and is not too much to worry about.

Obviously, this is just attempt by these commentators to grab some headlines.
BUT - it is creating negative PR about CloudStack. Right now

*CALL TO ARMS*
As we don't have a big marketing machine, it would be good if everybody in this
community could do a little PR work on twitter, etc. over the next few days.

The key things to get the world to understand are:

- Cloudstack is NOT a Citrix project. Changes that Citrix make are
irrelevant to an Apache project

- Cloudstack is successful

- #cloudstackworks

- Many other organisations support cloudstack

- Cloudstack is the most widely deployed IaaS software (feel free to
use examples)

Kind Regards
Giles

assignVirtualMachine - Change domain (4.1.1)

2014-09-09 Thread Ian Duffy
Hi All,

I'm wanting to use assignVirtualMachine to change the domain and account a
VM belongs to within Cloudstack.

Within version 4.1.1 this is not supported:
http://cloudstack.apache.org/docs/api/apidocs-4.1/root_admin/assignVirtualMachine.html

Transferring ownership to any domain was only implemented in a later
release.

Has anybody got a database modification work around for this?

I'm looking at modifying the domain_id, domain_uuid, account_id,
account_name, account_type for both volume and instance. I haven't tested
this yet, but I would love to hear anybody elses experience.

Thanks,

Ian

Yeah - that doesn’t work 100% - you’ll have to delete and re-create the fw
rules, at least for advanced networking. Needs a tiny bit more refinement. :)

Hi All,

Within version 4.1.1 this is not supported:

Machine.html

Transferring ownership to any domain was only implemented in a later
release.

Has anybody got a database modification work around for this?

Management server and opvswitch setup

2014-09-09 Thread Marek Wieckowski
Hi guys

Below is my current setup and configuration:
- renting 2 servers, both of them have 2 network cards
- eth0 is the external interface with statically assigned external
ip
- eth1 is the internal interface with statically assigned internal
ip
- both servers have Centos 6.5 installed

I want 1st server to be a management server as well as kvm hypervisor This
server has already cloudstack management installed and gluster package
Gluster is setup as well. I have 2 volumes; one for primary and one for
secondary storage. It contains bricks from server1 and server2.

Server2 has gluster agent and cloudstack agent installed. This one will be
purely KVM hypervisor.
My provider gives me possibility to buy additional external ip addresses,
and of course I will buy few.
Since eth1 cards are able to communicate only in local network, I am
thinking of setup like this:

Eth0 - will serve management and public traffic
Eth1 - will serve guest and storage traffic

As far as I don't hesitate to start installing openvswitch on server2, I
have some doubts over setting up openvswitch on server1 which will be kvm as
well as management server.

Could you recommend some optimal setup for this particular scenario? I don't
mind removing management role from server1 as later on I want to make
management server a virtual machine anyway.
I also consider renting a 3rd, lower spec server just for management,
however this one will have only one network card with external ip address.

Regards
Marek

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Happy to help.

Don’t run tomcat6. Make sure you don’t have both tomcat6 and
cloudstack-management running, in which case just stop tomcat6 and restart
management server.

I ended up wiping it and starting again. I did manage to consistently
reproduce the error but put it down to some testing that I have been
doing (like with other cloud software).

After wiping a few bridges, dropping databases and doing a few other
things I am now at the point of a configured system with a GUI and
SSVM's running.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Edit the network setup on a SSVM

2014-09-09 Thread Piers

Hi there,

I've managed to set the gateway for some static routes to the primary &
secondary storage wrong.

How do I set these (eg: from the terminal in the SSVM)?

If I change these will they persist (if new SSVM's are created)?

Or is this something that is propagated from the MySQL database?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
