RE: unable to get VM console in broswer

2015-01-27 Thread Sonali Jadhav
Hi,

Yes I have cleared browser cache and also checked CPVM logs. They are not
helpful.

But isn't this error occurs when the page is trying to load some scripts by
HTTP instead of HTTPS, so browser is considering it as unsafe content to load?

I tried to check with "Firebug" plugin of firefox. Its making call to CPVM with
Public address but with HTTP protocol not HTTPS, And that's the reason behind
this issue I feel.

http://PublicIPAddressOfCPVM/ajax?token=Xyzandifbkjsnvcsd.

How do I fix this? It's an issue.

/Sonali

Re: agent host in alert state

We found that secondary storage nfs was not working well. We then
restore the nfs service and rebooting the machine on alert. Now it works!

 From the logs it appears that agent got connected but can't say what happened

There are quite a few things that you could verify/check, like,
1. netstat shows a connection between mgmt. server (on port 8250) and systemvm.
2. the disk on the systemvm hasn't run out of space.

You could perform a stop/start of the VM to see if that recovers from the
situation.

You may also try various other checks including running the health check script
mentioned here,

Subject: agent host in alert state

Hi all,
we have installed a cloudstack 4.3.0 in advanced network mode on ubuntu
systems with only kvm hypervisor.

Today we received these series of notification (email):
   1) Host disconnected, name: agent_name (id:7), availability zone:
zone_name, pod: pod_name
   2) Host is down, name: agent_name (id:7), availability zone:
zone_name, pod: pod_name

zone_name, pod: pod_name
   5) Unable to restart vm_name which was running on host name:
agent_name(id:7), availability zone: zone_name, pod: pod_name

The server agent was not shut down nor rebooted and the virtual machines
are still running.

In agent log I found messages like these:

2015-01-26 15:04:40,728 INFO  [cloud.agent.Agent] (Agent-Handler-2:null)
Cannot connect because we still have 5 commands in progress.

I tried to restart the agent service and after some minutes the log says:

2015-01-26 15:05:42,207 INFO  [utils.nio.NioClient]

But in manager interface I see this agent in Alert state.

Any idea to resolve this problem?

if you look at the scripts used to build the coreOS template for cloudstack:

https://github.com/coreos/coreos-overlay/tree/master/coreos-base/oem-cloudstack/files

They do fetch the ssh key served by the virtual router .

coreOS uses its own version of cloudinit to be able to do this on boot.

so if you setup sshkeys in cloudstack and use it to deploy a coreOS VM, that
coreOS template will fetch the keys and you will be in business…

not to say that it cannot be improved, but the mechanics are there and could be
enhanced if needed.

thank's for your reply!

This is exactly what I was looking for.

After digging a little further, I stumbled upon
https://github.com/mindjiver/packer-cloudstack

Particularly the ipxe Image that guy built is very nice, since it
chain-loads via userdata.

So what I finally did with a very similar ipxe.iso is:

cat >recipe <<__EOF__
#!ipxe
kernel http://10.10.1.254/vmlinuz root=/dev/nfs vga=normal
nsroot=10.10.1.254:/nfs-image-installer/install ip=dhcp rw --
initrd http://10.10.1.254/initrd.img
boot
__EOF__

b64recipe=$(cat recipe | base64 -w0)

cloudmonkey update virtualmachine id=$vmid userdata=$b64recipe

Well, the first steps are done. Now I have to figure out a convenient
way for my virtualrouter to give dhcp leases also to non-ACS machines /
make cloudstack aware of other machines...

So far, thank's again!

Registering Template Issue

2015-01-27 Thread Pankaj Singh
Hi,

I have created a Centos 6.5 VM template via VirtualBox in VHD format so
that it can support xenserver 6.2 hypervisor. While registering template it
throws following error.

Failed post download script: failed to uncompress
/mnt/SecStorage/16f29732-e68b-399b-b340-ca83f99384a6/template/tmpl/2/208/dnld9006295490757894375tmp_

I am trying to install a Centos 6.5 VM template without LVM support.
Is it possible to install VM template without lvm support?

My cloudstack setup have following configuration

Cloudstack Management server 4.4.2
Hypervisor = Xenserver 6.2
Primary/Secondary storage = Centos 6.4 NFS shared.

Would anybody please help me to figure out this issue.

Thanks and Regards

Dear,

At moment I tried to create a new snapshot and again the error message was
displayed "There is other active vm snapshot tasks on the instance to which
the volume is attached, please try again late".

Before I tried to create a snapshot an error occurs, I tried to remove the
snapshot with error, and now the status of this snaptshot is "Expunging".

How can I kill this process or remove manually it snapshot?

I think it's the motive of message error.

Anyone can help me?

Sorry, wrong terminology

You need to use the Static NAT feature and you will need 1 Public IP per VM in

The logfile states, that the HyperVisorType does not match my running
cluster. Interestingly, It works, If I deploy the very same machine via
GUI. The ISO Template has "OS Type Other (64-bit)".

Does that sound, if I'm holding it wrong? Or is it likely that I hit
some bug?

Re: outbound/mask traffic configure

2015-01-27 Thread Geoff Higginbottom
Hi Hollman,

You need 4 IPs as there is one for the default Source NAT, then 1 per VM to
enable Static NAT.

I believe your original request was to enable three VMs to each have a unique
IP when they access the Internet.

I assume you have not touched the global setting about hypervisors, so
there are still all hypervisors configured and if you don't provide the
param hypervisor= it will take the first specified in
the global settings IMHO.

If you only have 1 hypervisor, you should adjust this setting so you do
not have to provide the param "hypervisor" every time deploy a new VM.

Removing a host from a cluster and adding it to another

2015-01-27 Thread Kyle Flavin
I've removed a host from one Cloudstack cluster, and I'm attempting to add it
to a new cluster. It will be the only host in the cluster, and used for
testing purposes. I put the host into maintenance mode, removed it from its
original cluster within the Cloudstack UI, then deleted it from the Xen pool
using xe pool-eject.

Now when I create a new cluster, and try to add the host, I get an error
message that just says "Unable to add host" from within the Cloudstack web UI.
I see messages in management-server.log that say "Trying to add a new host at
http://http://%3cmyhost>>", but no indication of an error:

2015-01-27 16:28:31,142 INFO  [c.c.r.ResourceManagerImpl]
(catalina-exec-13:ctx-4ab1a388 ctx-fa2957ea) Trying to add a new host at
http:// in data center 1

On the Xen host itself, I see the following in the xensource.log:

Jan 28 00:28:31  t1 /opt/xensource/bin/xapi: [debug||748 INET
0.0.0.0:80|pool_patch.get_by_uuid D:5fb0d4d944bb|dispatcher]
Server_helpers.exec exception_handler: Got exception UUID_INVALID: [
pool_patch; 996dd2e7-ad95-49cc-a0be-2c9adc4dfb0b ]

It references an invalid ID, but I'm not sure what that UUID belongs to; it
isn't the UUID of the pool.

Is there something that needs to be done to "clear" the configuration of a
Xenserver host prior to adding it to a new cluster? Or is Cloudstack
"remembering" the old host name and not allowing me to put it into the new
cluster?

Thanks,
Kyle

Re: Registering Template Issue

2015-01-27 Thread Abhinandan Prateek
Is you VHD file compressed, like vhd.bz2 ? It appears cloudstack is expecting a
compressed file.
It should be possible to install VM without LVM support but you may not be able
to use some functionality like disk resize.

RE: Removing a host from a cluster and adding it to another

2015-01-27 Thread Kyle Flavin
Ah, yes I can confirm that there is a host tag with the following query on the
CS database. Here is the sanitized output from the host_tags table:

select * from host_tags where host_id=;

+-+-++
| id  | host_id | tag|
+-+-++
|  |   |  |

Is it safe to delete this entry, or should I add the host back into its old
cluster and then delete the tag through the UI?

Re: Removing a host from a cluster and adding it to another

2015-01-27 Thread Abhinandan Prateek
The tag needs to be removed from the Xen Hypervisor so that it cleanly goes to
another cluster. Use the following to clear host tags after detaching it from
the pool:

xe host-param-clear uuid=$host param-name=tags; (Run it in moving Xen host)

You also need to clear the SR on this host so that there is no conflict when it
is added to another cluster. Following are the steps to clear the SR:
