RE: Some Questions

2014-03-18 Thread Talk Jesus
Hi Erik,

Answers inline.

1) What kind of compute offerings do you plan on providing to your
customers?
- I guess similar to competitors like IO, cloudvps.com, Amazon. Just a
general example.

2) Where are you storing customer vms? Local storage, or is there some
storage solution not mentioned here?
Apparently I left that out. Since you recommended a backup server for
management (the CS control panel box), would it be reasonable and viable to
throw in a RAID-10 array of drives there, maybe 4 SAS drives or keep the
storage a totally separate server, similar to the backup server but instead
of SATA, use SAS for performance?

3) Can't give much insight on the IO rate card as I'm not US based.
No problem.

4) You might want two management servers for redundancy.
Thanks for the tip.

Our specs:
Management servers: 2 virtual cores, 8GB ram. Running on existing virtual
infrastructure.
Hypervisors: 2 hexadore cpus, 192/256GB ram. 160GB disks.
Primary/secondary storage: Netapp
Backup: Only for management

Hi Higginbottom,
I would like to explain my questions again.I mean that I have downloaded
system template completely and it is able to start ssvm and
cpvm.Besides, from UI,I can see the size of system template. However, after I
downloading the template of my own for internet,I see the size field of my
template is empty!Just like that:
HypervisorLXCTypeUSERReadyYesStatusDownload Complete*Size*It's
strange!Would you please help me explain that? Thanks.

Re: Some questions about vm template

2013-11-15 Thread Geoff Higginbottom
Frank,

The system VM template is for system VMs only.

Please revert your DB changes and allow it to be used to automatically create
the SSVM & CPVM VMs.

Once the SSVM has been created it will connect to Secondary Storage and will
then report back the size of the template. It will then download the default
CentOS template which you can use to create user VMs.

Now I compile and installe cloudstack 4.2 from resouce code, but I find the

Old napshot files on server are still not deleted by snapshot schedule.

Re: some questions about snapshot

2013-08-07 Thread WXR
It can delete the older snapshots on the webUI,but the files are not deleted
actually.
If I go to the snapshot folder of secondary storage,I can see all the snapshot
files.

I use kvm as hypervisor, could you tell me how to let cloudstack create delta
snapshots daily and full snapshots every 7 days?

Thank you.

About the first question:

Are you talking about the recurring snapshot feature? If yes, AFAIK, It is
supposed to delete the 1st snapshot when you take the 4th one.

Regarding the second one,

You are right about settings present in global category for full and delta
and they are closely tied to hypervisor. What is the hypervisor you are
using?
