Re: Unable to create VM through 100 and 200 GB temaplate.

2020-05-05 Thread Andrija Panic
That's most probably NOT the correct solution but just happens to work in
your environment...
Something else is in the root cause of the problem...
using linked clones should work by all means (known to be broken on VMFS6 -
ACS is not compatible with it, requires VMFS5 - but with NFS it should work)

Thanks to everyone.

Hi All,

If we do these changes. any impact in production?

@Andrija Panic<mailto:andrija.pa...@gmail.com>, Please find the VMFS version
screenshot.

One more thing When we create VMs through the template, the template is
successfully copied on secondary storage, but when it goes on primary storage
the VM creation failed.

Re: Unable to create VM through 100 and 200 GB temaplate.

2020-04-27 Thread Marc-Andre Jutras
Sounds like you're reaching a limit somewhere on your cloudstack... (
error from vmware: The task was canceled by a user. )

in your global settings, check for these points and adjust the value: (
set them to -1 for no limit... )

custom.diskoffering.size.max

max.project.primary.storage

max.account.primary.storage

max.domain.primary.storage

Also, depending on your SAN // VMFS speed, you may need to adjust some
timeout value in cloudstack / global settings...

vm.job.timeout...

and since you're on vmware, I will highly recommend you to set these
global settings too:

vmware.root.disk.controller =  lsisas1068

vmware.systemvm.nic.device.type = Vmxnet3

A proper log, or perhaps (if this is what you tried to share) a
screenshot uploaded online would be better.

Which VMFS version?

RE: unable to create vm deployment insufficient server capacity

The cpu frequency is set to 2.30Ghz in the GUI, both for the 16GB/4 cpu as well
as the 32Gb/4 cpu service offerings.

Seems to be 2,3GHz (9200MHz requested over 4 cpus).

Chris: check that your host(s) CPU speed is registered as 2300MHz or higher in
the ACS gui.

RE: Unable to create VM

2015-01-29 Thread José Egas López
It seems the problem was on ESXi 5.5, I updated the hypervisor software to the
second update of ESXi 5.5.
Then I added again the zone and now I'm able to add VMs, I don't really know if
it was an ACS issue or an ESXi issue.
Thanks!

It may be the template I don't know.

When I said do a grep, I meant something like - grep job-56
management-server.log | less - then read through the operation and find out the
first failure.

It's a fresh deployment, I don't know why it throws that
InsufficientServerCapacityException.
Somesh, what do you exactly mean with doing a grep?
Thanks!

It say's InsufficientServerCapacityException but not sure which resource
based on the logs below.

You could do a grep on 'job-56 to get more insight. If not, share that output
via pastebin.

Re: Unable to create VM

2015-01-28 Thread Rafael Weingartner
You just need to read carefully the lines above this one :

“create a deployment for VM[User|i-2-10-VM]
com.cloud.exception.InsufficientServerCapacityException: Unable to create a
deployment for VM[User|i-2-10-VM]Scope=interface com.cloud.dc.DataCenter;
id=1”

You will see in the logs each cluster and host of the cluster that the CS
is checking if they receive the VM. It will say the amount of free memory,
CPU and storage for each cluster. You will see what the problem is; just
read carefully the logs entries.

It may be the template I don't know.

When I said do a grep, I meant something like - grep job-56
management-server.log | less - then read through the operation and find out the
first failure.

Subject: Unable to create VM

Hello evryone,

I am unable to create a VM. Have been stuck at this problem for days now.
Using cloudstack 4.4.1. Configuration is as follows

Management server 172.31.101.202
Pod 1 - private ip range 172.31.101.210 - 172.31.101.220
Guest IP range 172.31.101.230 - 172.31.101.250
Cluster1 - KVM
Host1 - 172.31.101.202

Pod 2 - private ip range 172.31.132.140-172.31.132.150
Didnt ask for guest ip range here
Cluster2 - KVM
Host2 - 172.31.132.132

VM creation is successsful on Host1 but not on Host 2.

But my dashboard shows nothing of that sort..ip addresses are available
both management and guests...creating vm on host1 works successfully..the
error comes only when it tries to create vm on host2
Can i provide any other info so that you can help me further??

can u please confrm my zone setup if that is right..i think there is
problem somewhere in there..

 Hello evryone,

I am unable to create a VM. Have been stuck at this problem for days now.
Using cloudstack 4.4.1. Configuration is as follows

 Management server 172.31.101.202
 Pod 1 - private ip range 172.31.101.210 - 172.31.101.220
 Guest IP range 172.31.101.230 - 172.31.101.250
 Cluster1 - KVM
 Host1 - 172.31.101.202

 Pod 2 - private ip range 172.31.132.140-172.31.132.150
Didnt ask for guest ip range here
 Cluster2 - KVM
 Host2 - 172.31.132.132

VM creation is successsful on Host1 but not on Host 2.

Hi,

You are trying to deploy a FreeBSD 10 instance right !
Try following the steps mentioned in the blog
http://shankerbalan.net/blog/freebsd-10-on-cloudstack-xenserver/

I think you are using the
FreeBSD-10.0-RELEASE-amd64-disc1.isohttp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-amd64/10.0/FreeBSD-10.0-RELEASE-amd64-disc1.iso
 to deploy VM.
Please give a try using
FreeBSD-10.0-RELEASE-amd64-bootonly.isohttp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-amd64/10.0/FreeBSD-10.0-RELEASE-amd64-bootonly.iso

Thanks
