About French Doc Translation - Traduction Française

2017-02-17 Thread Antoine Le Morvan

Hi everybody.

My name is Antoine, and I started translating the CloudStack Doc Admin
in French Language.
My Pull Request has now been merge
(https://github.com/apache/cloudstack-docs-admin/pull/41).

What follows in this message is for French contributors.

Bonjour,

commencer.

Cordialement

Thanks to all,

Antoine.

Re: UI translation for 4.6

2015-10-31 Thread Milamber

Hello,

Last call to the translators before localization resources integration
into the CS 4.6 release candidate. The last update of resource files is
planned to Sunday afternoon(tomorrow).

Currently we have 6 languages fully translated, only 19 strings to
translate for Hungarian, only 27 strings for German to reach 8 languages!

Link to translate on Transifex:
https://www.transifex.com/ke4qqq/CloudStack_UI/46xmessagesproperties/

Thanks

sebastien and Dutch users,

I have translated some strings. I think we need to review each other on
this as sometimes a translation holds the middle ground between ridiculous
and over the top when done from english to dutch. I would like to translate
everything (185 strings to go).

[TRANSLATION] Update on new doc format

2014-03-05 Thread sebgoa
Hi translators,

It's been a while since we had an update on the translation work.
I am happy to say that 82 people have contributed translations to the
cloudstack documentation.

Since we had an update, the transifex site has changed quite a bit, so if you
have not looked at it lately, please do.

The big item that we have coming is a change of format for the documentation.

As you know publican was using docbook xml format, this worked well for
translation but building and serving these translated docs on the web was a bit
of a pain.

On the dev list we have discussed changing the doc format to restructured text
(a simple markdown like format), and using read the docs
(https://readthedocs.org) to build and host the documentation [1]. For example
see [2].

Note that this is still a work in progress and anyone is welcome to contribute,
all the docs repo are now mirrored on github and we can accept pull requests.

This move is going to mean some changes for translations:

We are still using transifex, but we will now use sphinx-intl [3] to manage the
pot and po files . All resource files (.pot) will be updated to transifex in
new projects since the restructured text format will generate new strings.

I am still working on this, but I am hoping we can re-use all strings already
translated and migrate them to the new project. I am just not sure yet how this
is going to work out, so I wanted to inform everyone and ask for help and eyes
on this.

To get started I setup a new transifex project for the release notes [4]

I would like to ask folks who have already submitted translation to look at
this new project and see how they can access already translated strings and
migrate them over to this new project.

The end result in RTD will be a much better experience for localization and
better browser support.

Thanks for your help on this, I know it's going to be a challenge,

Cheers,

[TRANSLATION] Update

2013-07-03 Thread Sebastien Goasguen
Hi folks,

The 4.2 branch has been cut and work is in progress for this new release.

The translation work is on-going but I wanted to give everyone a quick update.

The UI translation is doing great, see the completion at:
http://awesomescreenshot.com/08b1gqa1bb

The Quick Install Guide (aka runbook) has several translation complete:
http://awesomescreenshot.com/08b1gqae94

Note that the 4.1.x branch has now a QIG as well, and we will work on the 4.2
version.

The entire documentation needs some love:

If you want to help out, see this screencast:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coVeK1QuIxMlist=PLb899uhkHRoZCRE00h_9CRgUSiHEgFDbCindex=2

and the accompanying slides:
http://www.slideshare.net/sebastiengoasguen/how-to-translate-apache-cloudstack-docs

The 4.2 release plan:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/Cloudstack+4.2+Release

You will see that the docs completion target is set for July 29th. And
translators should have a dedicated two weeks early August. Of course, this is
an on-going effort, so get started now :)

Thanks for your help and get the word out, it's an easy way to get involved in
the community.

Cheers,

-Sebastien
