Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: any word about 4.0.4 portable coming out?
2013/6/30 Denis J Navas denis.na...@gmail.com LibreOffice has a configuration option to check by itself for new versions. The Portable LibreOffice, must be checked by the PortableApps platform. And at your will, you can actualize your version or wait after some time, to give time to rise reports on the new version. Instructions on how to check for updates, either automatically or manually, are found on this webpage : * https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Check_for_Updates*https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Check_for_Updates . However, on my machine running 64-bit Linux Mint 15 with LibreOffice Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:2)) installed, no «Check for updates» button under «Help», which would allow me to check manually is to be found, nor can I select for automatic updating by selecting «Online Update» via Tools → Options → LibreOffice ; no such alternative appears. Could it be that this is due to the fact that I am using the Ubuntuised version of LibO, as updated via the Ubuntu PPA (kudos, by the way, to the developers who have taken upon themselves the task of updating there !) ? Do others, who are not using the PPA to update LibreOffice, in fact have access to these alternatives ?... [libreoffice-users] [base] Writing form trigger macros to modify other fields?
Using OpenOffice/LibreOffice I've been building a small database with a form. I'm now at the point where I have two fields (radio button pair and date field) that are somewhat connected. When I set the radio button to No, I should set the date field to null, and when I set the date field to non-null, I should set the radio button to Yes. It looks like I'll have to venture into macros to do this. Could someone point me to specific current resources and hints that will help me achieve this? From a language point of view, I'd prefer to write Java macros, but I can see the possibility that that might not be ideal for this situation. Is it practical to write macros in Groovy? Otherwise, I suppose I'll have to use the default, which appears to be a variant of Basic. From what little I can tell about how macros are used, it looks like macros are not parameterized. You just get the ability to call a macro on an event. I would think it would be very useful to be able to write a macro that is intended to take parameters, like trigger value, target field, and target value, and that could be reused in any situation where a new particular value for a field needs to cause a particular value to be set on another field. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

There is no such thing as an blank line in a word processing document (unless you create them with line breaks, using Shift+Enter); consecutive presses of Enter create empty paragraphs. When you use the three-symbol technique to create a border, you need to start in an empty paragraph, so you will have pressed Enter at the end of the preceding paragraph. But when you press Enter after the three characters, you don't keep that separate paragraph; instead, the border is attached to the previous paragraph. You've pressed Enter twice, but you've ended up creating only one paragraph end. If you want the border to be detached from the previous paragraph, you need to press Enter twice before you enter the three characters - creating a separate empty paragraph (your blank line) before you do. When you press Enter for a third time, you will have your original paragraph with no border and a separate paragraph (that separate empty one) containing just the border but otherwise empty. Three presses of Enter has created two paragraph ends. I trust this helps. [libreoffice-users] Need help with page formatting please...
Hi list! I am trying to create mini cue cards, 3x2.5, meaning I want to print two mini-cards on a 3x5 card which I will cut in half. I want the text (one to three lines) to start at the same place on each mini-card. When I format the page for 3x5, I don't know how to get the text for the second mini-card to start at the same place each time (the first mini-card may have a varying number of lines). I need hundreds of these things, and I would like to format each page (two mini-cards) once for all the cards. I've played with the paragraph spacing, frames, page formatting, and almost everything else, but haven't gotten it figured out yet. Any suggestions (especially ones that might actually work) will be gratefully appreciated. Re: [libreoffice-users] Need header outside right margin
Your right, someones mucked it up. I have quite a few documents with the header wider than the page margins from an older version. They open ok and show the header wider, I have not tried an edit to see if my formatting is lost or not. I have some vague recollection of a tick box about synchronise header and page width or header width the same as the page but not sure where that came from (as it aint there now). Oops, formatting lost, the headers (and footers) have now been shrunk by LO to match the page margins. steve On 2013-07-01 13:44, William Drago wrote: Negative indents are rejected by LO.
