Re: [libreoffice-users] Pasting Tabular Data Into Calc From An HTML Source

Per your suggestions, step 3.1 could be "open the HTML file in LO," step 3.3 would be "switch to the main document," and step 3.5 would be "close the source (temporary) spreadsheet without saving it. As I see it step 2.3 is the most complex. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-users] Calc - Sorting - Alphabetically
Charles, What kind of data is in that column? I have a list of names in one column of a sheet. I never bothered to format this to text. When I sorted, it automatically arranged the column in alphabetic order. hth Cheers On 09/02/16 13:41, charles meyer wrote: Hi Folks, I have all my data in Column A. I wish to sort alphabetically. No adjustments of any kind to the template was made. LO 4.4.7.2 Downloaded and tried 5.0.4. Believe it or not, things are even worse. Three quarters of the text on each label is now bold. Nothing was bold in the document I created in 4.4.7.2. Now, maybe there's a way to select all the text in all the labels at one time to change everything to bold or bold off, but I can't find it. So at the moment, I'm changing the attributes one label at a time. CMD-A, CMD-B, spinning beach ball. Repeat next label. Same result. Each and every time. Exporting as PDF via LO has the same result, labels are off vertically. Saving as a PDF from Apple's print dialogue, same result, labels are off vertically. I started with LO 3.x.x., labels didn't work then either. I know not what the problem is with the coding, but by now all the kinks should have been worked out. The labels certainly haven't changed. I just tried it in 5.0.4 Windows 7. Same results. This is why I no longer recommend LO to anyone, and use it only minimally. -- Ken Mac OS X 10.8.5 Firefox 44.0 Thunderbird 38.0.1 "My brain is like lightning, a quick flash and it's gone!" -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-users] Calc - Sorting - Alphabetically
If you choose an ascending sort then it will sort A to Z; descending will sort Z to A. I believe that as long as there is one non-numeric cell then it will sort based on characters rather than values, but someone else should confirm that. You don't need to make this selection anywhere: if your data is text, the sort will be alphabetic; if the data is numbers, the sort will be numeric. The only exceptions to this are if you have set other choices at "Custom sort order" or "Language/Options" on the Options tab of the Sort dialogue. I trust this helps.
