[libreoffice-users] the size has almost doubled

2017-09-11 Thread krishna
i am bit shocked to find size of
master~2017-09-11_06.33.07_LibreOfficeViewer-strippedUI-debug as 112 MB

most of the previous were not more than 65 MB

did the developers added several libraries at once ? or it has bloated ?

any thoughts ?

krishna

[libreoffice-users] Re: ZoomText screenreader problem

2017-09-11 Thread V Stuart Foote
Both OpenOffice 4.1 and LibreOffice 4.3 onward expose accessible events in
IAccessible2 based assistive technology.

OpenOffice at ia2 1.2 and LibreOffice at ia2 1.3, neither implements MS UIA
so depending on reading support of ZoomText Magnifier/Reader for
IAccessible2 you may have minimal support.

The Java Access Bridge for Java Accessibility is not required.

As noted by Zarha, the NVAccess NVDA project is free and fully integrates
msaa/iaccessible2 API support into its screen reader.

Alternatively, the Linux GNOME project's ORCA and Magnifier are available in
that OS from various Linux distros.

This is the default-message when GUI doesn't know how to change the
code. You have designed the query after switchung from GUI to direct SQL
for adding
UCASE( "Wines"."Wine_Name" ) LIKE UCASE( '%' || ( SELECT "filterstring"
FROM "tblfilter" ) ) || '%'
and the query will work.
Could be better to change it a littel bit
UCASE( "Wines"."Wine_Name" ) LIKE '%' || UCASE( SELECT "filterstring"
FROM "tblfilter" ) || '%'
and to set the subquery for only one row, but could be it won't change
the behavior. Query will be opened for changing in GUI-Mode, but this
wouldn't work ...

[libreoffice-users] ZoomText screenreader problem

2017-09-11 Thread Simon Ley
Hello everyone!

As a learned computer scientist, I am currently helping a blind man with
his computer running the screenreader ZoomText 10.11.9. We have recently
upgraded to Windows 10 and wanted to set up a text processing software.

Having installed LibreOffice 5.3.4 (64 bit), I then installed the 64 bit
version of jdk-8u131, enabled the support of "assistive technology tools"
in the LibreOffice settings and entered the path to the JRE within the JDK,
which was successfully detected. However, ZoomText wouldn't work, it would
read neither the menu bar nor the typed text.
I also tried the same with Oracle's OpenOffice 4.1.3 32 bit and 32 bit JDK,
where ZoomText could at least read the menu items, yet the main text was
still inaccessible.

I am now at a loss of ideas. I wonder if there is some kind of error log
which may point out the problem? I'd be very grateful if you could help us.

Thank you in advance, best regards,
Simon Ley

Re: [libreoffice-users] Mysql Native Connector for LO 5.4

2017-09-11 Thread H. Stoellinger

Hello,
Thanks for your answers! I have found and solved my problem...
When I installed Debian 9, MariaDB was automatically instaalled. It
seems that the structure of
the confg-files has changed between MySQL 5.5 and MariaDB 10. The new
config-file specified
localhost for the bind-address parameter. Changing it such that the
server also listens to "normal"

TCP-IP connections has done the trick.
I will keep on using JDBC till a viable native connector becomes available.

Hello,
I have been using LO-Base with all the available connectors to MySQL
databases for years

in my client-server
environment together with LO 5.4.1. Is there a native connector
(64-bit, Linux-Mint 18.2)?

Thanks for the good work and regards from Salzburg

[libreoffice-users] syntax error in SQL - error 1000

2017-09-11 Thread ptoye
I have a query which works fine. But when I edited it in the graphical query
editor LO refused to save it saying that there was an SQL error. The
detailed message was "syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting BETWEEN or IN
or SQL_TOKEN_LIKE". Even if I try to save the unedited version I get the
error, which I find a bit bizarre. But it runs OK and gives the correct
result.

The SQL for the query is

SELECT "Wines"."ID", "Wines"."Wine_Name" "Name", "Wines"."Year",
"Suppliers"."Name" "Supplier", "Wines"."Price", "Regions"."Region",
"Wines"."Bottles_Bought", "Wines"."Bottles_Left" "Left", "Wines"."Buy_Again"
"Buy", "Wines"."Avoid", "Wines"."Bin_End", "Wines"."Alcohol",
"Wines"."Acquired", "Wines"."Drink_By", "Wines"."Comments", "Styles"."Style"
FROM "Wines", "Suppliers", "Regions", "Styles" WHERE "Wines"."Supplier_Id" =
"Suppliers"."Id" AND "Wines"."Region_Id" = "Regions"."Id" AND
"Wines"."Style_Id" = "Styles"."Id" AND UCASE( "Wines"."Wine_Name" ) LIKE
UCASE( '%' || ( SELECT "filterstring" FROM "tblfilter" ) ) || '%'

I suspect that the problem is in the last clause.

The underlying database is HSQLDB.
