Re: [libreoffice-users] Build Settings extension

2014-06-18 Thread Leif Lodahl
Hi,
Galaxy is the default, so the registrymodification line
item oor:path=/org.openoffice.Office.Common/Miscprop
oor:name=SymbolStyle oor:op=fusevaluedefault/value/prop/item
is correct.

My best guess for Common.xcu would then be

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?
oor:component-data xmlns:oor=http://openoffice.org/2001/registry;
xmlns:xs=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema; oor:name=Common
oor:package=org.openoffice.Office
 node oor:name=Misc
  prop oor:name=SymbolStyle oor:op=fusevaluedefault/value/prop
  /prop
 /node
/oor:component-data

Please note that I didn't test this yet. Its just a guess ;-)

Cheers,
Leif Lodahl

 Hello,
years ago I wrote a OpenOffice 3.3 extension to set some defaults like:

 - Disable Updates
 - Set ooSetupFactoryDefaultFilter (for example save writer documents
 in Word 97 format)
 - Set Autosave TimeIntervall and so on.

Now I use Libreoffice and some settings has changed,
Disable the Update does not work any more.
And I want to the change the SymbolStyle to Galaxy.

In my UserDir there is a file registrymodifications.xcu
 with the following entry:

 item oor:path=/org.openoffice.Office.Common/Miscprop
 oor:name=SymbolStyle oor:op=fusevaluedefault/value/prop/item

and this entry to the Common.xcu in my plugin produce an invalid XML
 and this does not work.
I can't remeber how I have build the plugin.
I also found no reference there all the possible settings are listed.

The structure of my plugin is
 .
 ├── Common.xcu
 ├── META-INF
 │ └── manifest.xml
 ├── Recovery.xcu
 ├── Settings.xcu
 ├── Setup-calc.xcu
 ├── Setup-writer.xcu
 └── Setup.xcu

 1 directory, 7 files

Did anybody know the right syntax for the Common.xcu to set the icon
style and/or fix the problem with the AutoUpdate?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Writer - Merging PDFs

2014-01-29 Thread Leif Lodahl
Yes you can. LibreOffice is great pdf mabipulator.

Open Draw and select file - open.
Select each pdf file one by one.
This will open the files in indiviual windows.
In the left panel you can select single or multible pages and copy.
Paste the pages into the left panel of another Draw window.
Continue as you need...
When done you can just export to pdf as usual.

Is there a way to eliminate all the empty space around each graphic in

 Hello,

I found a website about a month ago, but unfortunately lost the link, that
pertains to a way to using LIbreOffice online.

It is not a Office 365 like idea. What I recall, it was set up on a
server, and you logged in and it also seemed like a VNC, thought i might be
wrong. Anyone away of this project?

Has anyone seen any type of progress/attempts in this direction, meaning
making a viable solution to bringing LIbre Office (maybe other might have
seen with Open Office?) to an online platform?

I am not suggested have 1 place to use it, like Office 365. But, an
installable solution for anyone to make an online office type package.

I am curious to know, as I would love a package that is available for this.

May I suggest that we try to close down the discussion and try to find an
acceptable approach?

I believe that Michaels earlier mail explained the context and (as I read
it) also include a small *apologize*.

I suggest that

   - we send a polite and excusing mail to all the involved bug submitters
explaining the reason for the action taken and the flow behind the bug
handling. Also explaining that we might have closed some issues that
shouldn't have been closed - and that we are sorry about that. In such case
ask the original submitter to reopen the issue.
   - we implement procedures in the future to avoid repetition of this
   misunderstanding
   - we all put this behind us and get to work ;-)

The guy made a mistake and he apologized for that and I'm pretty sure he
won't do that mistake next time. Mistakes happen no matter what project you
are working with - open source or commercial. Thats not the point.

The point is that these bugs has been closed just because nobody picked

accepted. If the project don't care about me spending time reporting a
bug, then I don't care about filling a bug report next time.

A LibO spreadsheet, made in LibO, Dutch version (no Excel or OOo past).

- In LibO 3.5.5, I used to give in dates as 20-7 and they were shown as
20 Jul 12.
- In LibO 3.6.0.2, if I enter 20-7, 20-7 is shown in the cell.

If I enter 20-7-12, the date is inverted into 12 Jul 2020.
So instead of entering 20-7, I now need to enter 12-7-20 to get the desired
 notation 20 Jul 12.

Is this a new feature, or a bug?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Localization of macros

2011-11-30 Thread Leif Lodahl
Thanks Andrew,
Please send me your ideas and examples.

My idea is also to use it in an extension.

I have upload my ides of an extension here
http://blog.magenta-aps.dk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Review.oxt .

The extension creates a new toolbar called Review. The right most icon
starts a macro with a dialog that is localized (so far only English and
Danish is included). All localization stuff is in the module Localization.

Problems so faris:

   - When I read the DialogStrings_xx_YY.properties i have some problems
with encoding. Only files created on the same platform shows right (Danish
language consist of some non-ascii characters æ, ø and å.
Currently this reads with wrong encoding on Windows (use Danish version
   to see the problem).
   How can that be solved?
   - Effectiveness. I'm not sure this is the most effective way and I'm
affraid that with many strings it will run slow. I haven't tried with more
   than these very few strings.

Missing work to be done (not problems)

   - Error handling
   - Better way to load only relevant strings (only partly implemented so
   far)
   - Default language should be from DialogString_xx_YY.default and not
   hardcoded
   - Script to generate Addons.xcu and /Office/UI/XYZWindowState.xcu

Feel free to tell me what you think of my solution.

From what I have seen on the dev list, unless you are actively fixing bugs
(or similar), don't bother them. I don't mean that they are evil incarnate,
just that the list claimed to be for that and only for that and they will
either mention that to you or simply ignore your request.

That said, perhaps there is another dev mailing list of which I am not
aware, but would like to be aware. Please enlighten me if this is so.

 Hi :)
It might be worth asking the Devs list about this perhaps? I suspect
it's slightly over the heads of most of us. There are a few devs or
almost devs here but not many. I would guess that the 'local' teams might
 have a similar issue.

It is usually good to ask any questions here first and then maybe we can
either answer directly or point people to other resources where they might
 get a better answer.

 Hi all,
I often need to have text strings other that dialog labels.
 This can be
error messages, status line messages and msgbox() text.

Does anyone here has experience with developing localizable
 macros?

It is possible to localize dialogs, the but is there a some
 kind of best
practice method to access these strings from a Basic
 macro?

I have found a way to do it, but if there is an official
 way of doing it, I
would like to hear about it.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Verify bug in OOo and LO for Non EN-USA locale

2011-07-03 Thread Leif Lodahl
Hi,
Running the test with Danish (da) locale confirms. The result is 12, 12, 125
and 12. We use ccomma (,) as decimal separator as in German locale.

I'm using Linux with LibreOffice 3.4.1 (OOO340m1 (Build:101)).

I hope this can help.

StarBasic converts a string representations of a number in a locale
specific way. In other words, in the USA, I expect 12.5 to round to an
integer as 13. In Germany, I expect 12,5 to round to 13. I have a report
of this NOT working on Linux in Germany. I am interested in the results from
a few different languages, locales, and operating systems. Note that this
works for me with the latest OOo release and the latest LO release candidate
 3 on 64-bit Fedora on en-US.

  Dim l As Long
  Dim d As Double
  l = CLng(12.5) : Print l  ' Expect 13 in en-US
  l = CLng(12,5) : Print l
  d = cdbl(12.5) : Print d
  d = cdbl(12,5) : Print d

Based on responses, I will open a bug report

Remember to also copy the content of *$SYSUSERCONFIG/LibreOffice/3* to the

2011/3/28 SnowmanDK snow...@snowmans.dk

 Hi

The error is caused by Roaming Profiles. I don't know if it is a problem in
all current Windows versions, but we use Windows 7 x64 hooked up to a
 Server
 2003 Active Directory.
I tested on my own home computer (also Windows 7 x64) and this one runs
 fine.
It seems like only 3.3.x (so far) is affected, as 3.2.x works great.

Hi Luuk,
When I install manually I only get English and Danish (unless I choose
custom installation and select more languages). However - when I use a
command line installation I always get ALL languages (and English is default
selected for the GUI).

What I want to do is to install the Danish language only (OK, English is
acceptable) but all languages.

So far I have tried the following commands:
msiexec /qn /i libreoffice33.msi TRANSFORMS=trans_da.mst
msiexec /qn /i libreoffice33.msi /t trans_da.mst
msiexec /qn /i libreoffice33.msi TRANSFORMS=trans_da.mst
msiexec /qn /i libreoffice33.msi /g 1033 /L* ../logfile1.txt

All with the same result: all languages are installed :-(

Download the LibreOffice installer of your choice
 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/ (get the install_multi version
for a selection of commonly-chosen languages, or the install_all
version for the full range of available languages). Save the
installer to a directory of your choosing. Your desktop is a
 perfectly-acceptable place, for example.

Commonly-chose-languages are always installed. With you option the
 'Danish' language should be added

How to make it the default for the userinterface is another question,
which i dont know the answer to.

[libreoffice-users] PRoblem in Tools - Options dialog

2010-12-29 Thread Leif Lodahl
Hi *,
I am using LibO 3.3 RC2 on Ubuntu 10.10 and I have discivered a strange
thing in the localized (Danish) version.

In the Tools - Options dialog in the section General there is (still) a
problem with spacing between the first line Tips / Extended tips and the
second line Help agent / Reset help agent. I think I have seen this
problem before in beta 1 or something?

The concequense is that the checkbox field Use LibreOfffice dialogs
dissapears behind the text Document status

The problem is in the localized Danish version but not in the English (US)
version. Compare these two screenshots:
