Doing work using strace seems that libreOffice is calling 
/usr/bin/xdg-email and passing parameter 
mailto:?subject=testemail=file:///tmp/lu1757371xdt6i.tmp/lu1757371x
dt6m.tmp/testemail.odt

That isn't working nothing beyond it work.
Running that same thing afterwards didn't work, since file was deleted, but 
then manually copied the odt file to location. This worked to a degree, but 
parameter $1 was mailto:?subjct=testemail 
Rest of info wasn't passed. Putting it in "'s worked.
Data would pass to my WSENDTO script and would get attachment, thou not 
subjest. Not sure if WSENDTO has option for other than attachment??

WSENDTO shell script.
#!/bin/bash
/home/msetzerii/.wine/drive_c/PMAIL/Programs/WSENDTO.EXE $(echo "$1" 
|sed 's_^.*file://__g')

That strips everything but path to file.

Still since it doesn't get passed from xdg-email it didn't work.
Renamed the xdg-email, and created a symbolic link to WSENDTO and it works.

Not sure why the Internet email option doesn't directory call WSENDTO, but 
uses xdg-email?

Will put it back to the original, since not sure if the xdg-email might have 
other 
uses. Seems to be dated back to 2010??

But interesting. My macro seems to work, and perhaps someone has detailed 
option of the WSENDTO beyond just sending filename.
Sometime things showed up in To: or Subject: lines, so must be something.

Note sure why it is call xdg-email instead of passing directly to internet

xdg-email gives a popup that says unable to detect mailto: URL??

But this will open email client and attaches file, but gives pop up windows 
error.

xdg-email --attach testemail.odt 
Popup shows input/output error failed to open Mail Reader??

So, not sure why the libreoffice is calling xdg-email or why the xdg-email 
doesn't link the filename passed without the --attach or if there is suppose to 
be 
an xdg-email-hook.sh somewhere? dnf failed to find anything that includes it?

Thanks again for the quick response. Don't know if it is 
trying something else. In browser I can type 
mailto:mi...@guam.net and it pulls up email client with 
no problem. Just seeing nothing with libreoffice, but the 
macro works fine.

Was trying to get the option to work, but after setting the 
program for Internet email nothing  happened when I 
tried to send to email. No message No Error.

Created a macro that does seem to work, but is very 
basic. Just copied stuff I found on web, so some parts 
might be better. First writer macro I've done. Usually do 
macros in calc.
Found code getURL that gets path to file that must be 
saved already. Probable a command to get it without the 
file:// but found another thing to remove that.
Then it is just a matter of calling the WSENDTO.EXE 
program and adding the full path to the already save file.
That brings up the Pegasus Email client, and adds the 
document as an attachment.

the type is showing as variant?? without it type is 
showing as long?
watching array gives variant with value 0 to -1?? if 
defined or not defined?

With line commented it gives value type as Long.

Returns 996
These all return 3

Believe =COUNTA(A$2:A$1, ISBLANK=0) is getting 
0 from range, but the counts the isblank=0 as an item?

Was the page I found that mentioned it, but other pages 
didn't mention the banking rounding? So not sure if excell 
would use regular rounding in excell, but uses the 
banking rounding if using the VBA? Don't have access to 
excell so no way to test, and might even vary depending 
on what version of excell and/or windows??


Note


This VBA function returns something commonly 
referred to as bankers rounding. So be careful 
before using this function. For more predictable 
results, use Worksheet Round functions in Excel 
VBA.


Note sure why neither Calc or Excell give option to select 
which type of rounding to use?


Made a test formula to do it.
=IF(AND(RIGHT(TEXT(A1,##."),2)="50",ISEVEN(INT(A1*100))=1),INT(A1*100)/100,ROUND(A1,2))


That looked at 3 and 4 digits and would round down for 0 
to 49 and round up for 51 to 99. 50 would depend on the 
original digit to 2nd decimal being even or odd to 
determine.

Would work with just looking at 3 digit, and would do same for 0 to 4, and 6 to 
9, and then vary if 3rd was 5?

to 12.12, while 12.135 would round to 12.14..

digit is an even or old number. If it is even, then it rounds

Usually, the standard round is used, but know that some 
government regulations require the banking/roundeven 
or roundodd method. 

Was surprized that excell's would default to banking? 
Note sure why they don't provide one for each method, or 
have an option to set.

The issues seems to be. I set conditional range to be A1:AAV600 
and the conditional formatting works great.
But, when I reload spreadsheet, the external link imports new data 
into A5:AV564 (at moment).
If I check condition format range it has changed from A1:AV600 to 
A565:AV600,A1:AV4
and thus only applies to headings and empty cells were it does 
nothing.
I can manually change it back to A1:AV600 and it works.
But that requires manually 
FORMAT/CONDITIONAL/MANAGE/EDIT/CELL RANGE
to change it.
So 4 clicks change range and two OK clicks. Not a big deal, but 
wondering why range changes, or why absolute or range name is 
not an option??

=Recall in Lotus and Quattro Pro you could enter for text 
fields a single quote, double quote or carat that would set 
cell alignment to left/right/center.
Libreoffice doesn't seem to support that, and have to 
manually set alignment.


Tried entering numbers directly in calc and got these 
results.

Does the web page have single quote or apostrophy or

Note: That the "`" does work. In my testing I must have 
enter ' instead of ` and the is why the "`" didn't work 
since it was char(39) instead of char(96)..

Just wondering if the data is from a public page or some 
kind of private page?? I have a spreadsheet that uses the 
external data link to a web site to get the latest covid 
stats for the US states, D.C. and territories. Than have 
macro that processes it into rest of sheet.

Would be interesting to see how the spreadsheet 
processes in the ` with the number. When I type in a 
number with a ` at the front, it shows that value as a text 
field and is left justified..

Assuming you are using text formatting dialog option.
You could click on the other option in addition to 
whatever filtering options you are using. Then put the 
apostrophe in the position after the other.
You will end up with a column with the blanks where the 
apostrophy was. Would then just delete that column.

apostrophy and that other cells don't have apostrophy's?

In another column to right put formula
No leading  an assuming D1 is cell with '2982 format 
numbers. Tried to match with "`" but it didn't work?? Had 
to use code and ascii value for `'
\u201c=IF(CODE(LEFT(D1,1))=39,VALUE(MID(D1,2,20)),d1)
If all numbers have ` you could just use.
No leading 
\u201c=VALUE(MID(D1,2,20))

Then copy the formula going down.
Then highlight. Ctrl-C, and the Shift-Ctrl-V over original 
data, rather than doing one cell at a time.

Perhaps one of those would work with your data.

Just wondering. I'm using Fedora and it has the has 
7.1.8.1 as the default Libreoffice.
I've also installed 7.2.6.2 and 7.3.1.3 on the system, and 
can run whichever one I want from Application Office 
Menu.

This is one issue I have.  For each version I download the 
version of the RPMs, and also download the local help 
RPM as well. Extract the files, and then copy the help 
RPM files to same location as the other rpms, and then 
install. This puts the help files in the correct location.

Have a little script I use to automate process and create a 
file I can copy to other systems to install.

Just to make sure it is clear $ will only remove 1 
space at end of line {1,}$ or [:space:]{1,}$ will 
remove all spaces 1 to whatever.

Seem to be able to get it to load the data from the csv file.
Just select option to use two delimeters. Use the : for 
headings and space for the data fields.
Then just have it use the odd columns for column 
headers, and even columns for the data for those heading.
Also used a formula ot convert date and time to date and 
time values.

The spreadsheet I sent gave columns A thru AB, but some 
may not have separated exactly correct. Not knowing 
exactly what changes would be needed.
Started by inserting a row at top.


To convert date to an actual date field. In ad1 put B.
In ad2 put this formula to make a date.

The link just 7.3.0, but downloaded again, and file was 
exactly the same as the earlier download. So, guess 
7.3.0.3 might work with Fedora 35, but doesn't work on 
any of my Fedora 34 machines.

Thanks for info. Checked that bug report, and it links as 
dup to another report. Does show more info than what I 
am seeing, but no solution yet.

Downloaded the latest daily dev build I seem to find that 
shows the date of the 2/5 and 7.3.0.0 and it does the 
same. 

One of the messages talks about a version 7.3.0.3 that 
works, but I can't seem to find it on any of the links. 
Perhaps it fixed this issue, but caused others?? 

Did try, and document and impress options do open, but 
calc option just fails. It again sends report sometimes.

Will watch for an update, but again. Thanks.

[libreoffice-users] Formatting Question..

Have some raw data I get that has mostly numeric data.
The minor issue I have is that some fields in these 
numeric columns have a - (dash) rather than a 0 or other 
number. After importing data into LibreOffice Calc these 
cells are left aligned text fields, where numeric fileds are 
right aligned. Wanted to have them centered.
Recall the old lotus and quattro pro use the ' " ^ at the 
beginning of text fields to set them up as left right 
centered. But don't think that works in either Excel or 
LibreOffice?

To get what I wanted, ended up highlighting how range 
and setting up a conditions format option for cell = "-" 
and creating a new style I called Centered with just the 
alignment option of center. That works, but seems 
overkill for few fields. About 250 rows and 19 columns of 
data.

Perhaps I've missed an option or it was just something 
the newer spreadsheets just don't support?

Wanted to try to create a macrothat would do everthing 
with just the original data in columns A-D.


With old Quattro pro would have been amuch simpiler 
process.. Would be nice if we could upload sheets.


Well, just wanted to see if I could do something.


The LibreOffice Macro recorder is terrible. So had to do a 
lot. Seems to work, but not pretty. Found that something 
that use to work no longer does. Have an old macro that 
actual used a regular sort with options, but now recorder 
just makes a single rem line that does nothing. Does work 
with a just sort ascending record, so had to switch data 
and total columns.
With column A having the Date and Time value
and Columns B-D having the values.
Macro will do the Integer Date Only in Column E.
Puts the Date in Column F with the last line for a date
Puts the Total in Column G for that data.
Copies the data from F and G to H and I without blank 
lines and sorts it. If data was already sorted that line 
might not be needed?? It also sets the formatting.


I'm not following the latest message that refers to a 
Sheet2? Will have to look at it more.

Again in Column E:
E1: Date Only
E2:Ex: =int(a2) copy down
F2 - Formula $5 needs to be changed to last row
=IF(E2E3,SUMIFS($C$2:$C$5,$E$2:$E$5,=uot;INT($A$2:$A$5)),)
Copy down Column F
G2 - Same as F
=IF(E2E3,E2,)
Copy down Column G


Data is there, but blank cells.
Can use Ctrl-Shift-V to copy to other location and then do 
a data sort ascending to get ridof blank lines.

My raw data sheet is in 4 columns

I have a secondary sheet with just the date i.e. 2010-10-08, acquired
with formula `=LEFT($Data.A4,10)'. Column B of this sheet needs to be
the SUM of all the numbers in the 3rd column, BUT only for the date in
column A i.e.


2010-10-08| 17
2010-10-09| 12
...
..
.


I have tried many Google searches and seen many videos on how this is
supposed to work yet for some reason, being race, colour, creed, or
stupidity, I cannot get the result I seek. It would seem that the
summation of data with the same date, but different time component in
the main data sheet is causing an issue.


I'd really appreciate some pointers here, even if not possible. If not
possible what could be done. I just don't understand the
INDEX(MATCH())/vlookupargument.

Don't know if this is what you are wanting, but I did this.
Copied the above data into a sheet using shift-ctrl-V use | 
as delimiter. That date and time is pasted as a date/time 
value versus a text string.

Added a 5th column labled as Date Only and put formula 
under it. =int(a2) and copied for the 4 data elements.

Then highlighted the 5 rows of Data.
Data/Subtotals
Group By "Date Only"
Under Calc Subtotals for: Checked value Y and Date Only
For value Y use SUM function
For Date Only used AVG function
Then OK.
That has it insert rows for each group with the totals for 
each day. It also shows a final total of everything that 
could be ignored.

Posible extra step if you just want the subtotal data.
In cells F2 and G2 put the formulas
=if(a2=0,e2,"")  That gets date only for subtotal lines
=if(a2=0,c2,"")  That gets value y for subtotal lines.
Copy F2:g2 down to F7: (don't need row 8 for final total).
Then highlight F2:G7 use Ctrl-C
Go to H2 - Do ctrl-shift-V and paste text number date/time
The Click Data - Sort ascending. 
That gives just the subtotal lines with date and total of 
day?

Might be a better way to do it, seems to work. Perhaps a 
macro to automate the whole thing.

Try this:
Highlight full range of Area
In my test A1:F419
For Condition 1
Set to Formula is:
Formula to weekday($a1)=1
Weekday returns 1 for Sunday on my setup (1 to 7) 
Just select ERROR as Style (for testing)

With the $a1 it will hightlight whole row of data instead 
of just that column.

Note an expert, but something you might try.
Open file, and go to File/Properties/Fonts
There are two check boxes for embedding fonts.
Don't know if either or both would make a difference.
Might be some font that you used isn't included on these 
devices and they are using a different font that throws 
everything off?
Not sure why this isn't listed under the PDF options as a 
choice? 
Had a spreadsheet I exported that had this issue with 
some fonts, and believe this fixed it? But it was long ago..
Worth a try. Worst thing, it makes no difference. File will 
be bigger since fonts will be included.

Just did a quick test. Put 1 to 5 in A1 to A5, A to D in A6 
to A9, left A10 and A11 blank.
=count(a1:a11) gives 5
=counta(a1:a11) gives 9

Countif could do other variations.

[libreoffice-users] Question on Command Line options for Writer??

I've done things with Calc, and it has options to set how 
the importing of csv files goes..


Was chatting with a person that was trying to convert odt 
to pdf files via command line. That was actually simple.


libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf filename.odt


Issue was that it uses the last options that was used from 
program.


63229 Aug92019 lisarequest.odt(Original ODT File)
55911 Aug92019 lisarequest2.pdf (Exported from GUI)
124092 Feb3 01:46 lisarequest3.pdf (Exported from
Command Line but last time had set the option to create hybrid)
66932 Feb3 03:26 lisarequest.pdf(Changed option in GUI to 
remove the check on hybrid, exited program, redid command line 
option)


Have looked for a way to do this on command line, but everything 
I've found seems to say you have to do it in the GUI settings??


With calc, I have a script that uses
libreoffice --infilter=CSV:59,34,76,1true$f.csv
That opens the csv file with the exact options I need.


Perhaps writer can do the same, but I've not found how??

I put the data in a file called tabel1.csv
Then imported the data into Calc (Vertical Bar is 124)
The following command loaded the file into a calc spreadsheet.
libreoffice --infilter=CSV:124,34,76,1 tabel1.csv
Then copied it into writer.
Tried to do it with --writer, but it results in just text rather than a table.
Might be a way to do it directly, but don't know myself. Do more with 
calc.

I'd just have the c program make standard csv format file with , or ; but 
Vertical bar does work with the 124 code. Then just copy it from calc 
into writer.

Don't know if this will help, but went to the link, and got same results 
with converting to pdf resulting in no emoji..
With the text example thou, I was able to get something that worked..
Saved the file as an html file.
Then opened the file in firefox.
Then printed to file on my Fedora 32 machine to a PDF.
That PDF file does seem to have the kiss_mark emojis.
Don't know if it will work  with the ones you want, but might want to try 
that...

In looking at my setup on Fedora System.

Now an added question. 
I've made about 40 backup of my macros by doing the following over 
time.
Tools / Macros / Edit
Click on the panel on Right that list the macros
Currently it shows 398 lines.
Do a Ctrl-A to hightlight all lines, and then a Ctrl-C.
Open a text editor, and paste the lines and save as libremacroxx
The Module1.xba file currently has 400 lines in it. 

I've copied the text file to other machines, and just reversed the process 
of pasting the lines into the window, and they seem to transfer just fine.

I also like keeping multiple copies, so I can compare them to see how 
I've made changes over time. Sometimes make a mistake, and having a 
back to be able to restore all or whatever macros. 

Just use the basic setup, so perhaps some have more files.

Put that number in E1 and formated it to a date field.
Comes up as December 27, 2021

Used this formula

Using a + I get an error since you are adding a number to a string?
="Monday " seems to give the number value of the date.

[libreoffice-users] Strange results when exporting chart??

Was able to fix it, but know it wasn't how it should be done?
Some how when I went to export a chart it was always defaulting to 
/root/x directory. I could manually change it to my users home directory, 
and save it there, but later attempts to export the updated chart would 
again default to the /root/x directory.

Looked thru all the config options I could think of, and nothing.
ended up going into my .config directory, and found this file that 
contained entries with file:///root 

.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcu

Think it appeared on 3 lines in the file. Just deleted the lines, and then it 
went to defaulting to the users/Document folder..
Not sure what I did to get it to start defaulting to /root/x or where I 
should have gone to correct it without manually editing the file.

Also, is there a way to change the default from PNG to JPG. For this 
chart the JPG seems to be much sharper than the same exported to PNG.

Did some messages directly with him that included images of what he 
was doing. Problem was with labels and not the actual diagrams. 

The labels where entered using the subscript or superscript ctrl keys, but 
when the graphs were showing, the sub and super options were gone, 
and the labels showed as regular characters. Found that if the sub/super 
characters were entered as unicode ctrl-shift-u then they would stay 
correctly. Unfortunately, not all characters have unicode for sub/super, 
but many do. Would have thought the unicode would have the 26 letters 
upper and lower case with both sub/super characters. Total of 104 
characters. But some don't seem to exist. 

The images he sent made it clear on what his issue was.

Does a file with them exist in full or part.
Was recently looking thru menus and found something interesting that I 
had not noticed before.
Data / Calculate / Formula to Value

I did a test, and it did what I wanted, so recorded the macro.
Strangely, the command to do the Formula to Value was there, but it had 
rem in front of it, so macro would not work as recorded. Removed the 
rem, and it worked fine?? So, this can duplicate the F9 Enter option for 
some things.

have linked to 
Shift-F4. Updates covid data from 50 states, D.C., and 5 Territories.. So, run 
it as data changes.
Perhaps there are lots of other such processes outthere. 
Still find it strange that the recorder recorded it, but did it as a remark??

Interesting that Rank returns only 1, 8, and 10 for values.
Largest seems to sort values, and for rank returns that on of the set of 
values.. 
"=LARGE(A2:A26,COUNTIF(A2:A26,MAX(A2:A26))+1)
CountIF process calculates you need to get the 8th largest value to get 
the 2nd largest range of values..

Assuming that is what you want it to do??

was really nice, but not sure how much work would be required to 
modify it. Tried to do it directly in other ways, but couldn't do it, and 
from feedback it seems it is no longer possible since libreoffice doesn't 
support the formula..
Created test file with 1000 GPS addresses with randon values with 
libreoffice to a text file. Original setup has each on separte line.
sed process does the 1000 items in 0.048 seconds.Then converted same data to 
500 lines with 2 sets of GPS addresses per 
line. Then wrote singlec++ program to process 500 lines of data.
Time: 0.005s.


So, guess there are different methods to solve the problem.
If anyone interested, can send the simple c++ program. Only little issue, 
was the the degree code that was in orginal posted data was a two byte 
version. Had to add a line of code to handle either single or double byte 
coding of that. In the sed solution, I had pasted the symbol, so didn't see 
issue, but in the c++ put the hex value. If anyone wants code, just send 
me an email..


Not really of any interest to me, since I don't have anything that deals 
with GPS or Digital address data. But don't like not being able to solve 
interesting problems. Thanks for the time, and hope this thread wasn't to 
much trouble to some..

[libreoffice-users] Away around problem. Don't do it with libreoffice??

=Wanted to see if it could be done outside libreoffice calc, since it doesn't 
want to work.


Since I don't have the original user info, I created a file with 1000 
randomly created data elements.


Created a bash script using sed to do the same processing.
Shell script gps3.sh

So, less than 4 hundredth of a secondFirst sed line creates a file that just 
has the decimal version for matching line
Second sed line makes a version of the output for use as input to bc, since it 
doesn't like the leading 
= that is needed to import into libreoffice.
paste command just makes a combined version of input data, and result in 
columns A and B
bc -l takes the formula file, and actual calculates the final number, so no 
need for libreoffice to 
calculate it.
paste again combines the two files.
For time test the loading to libreoffice is commented out.


Did find an error in my earlier process thou..
In other macros, date is converted to time value so the multiply by -1 for 
values didn't need ( ).
The above adds that..


Well, a simple solution that works, and libreoffice can read the csv files 
without issue..
Also, a lot faster...

It is. But the text string1+1is not a value expressed as text but
a numerical expression in text form. And VALUE() does not undertake
to evaluate such expressions.

What you need instead is the EVALUATE() function. (PS: It doesn't exist!)

I think the fact that VALUE(1+1) entered as part of a formula does
what it does is a lucky side effect. Clearly in this case LibreOffice
is doing something similar to the automatic editing that is done when
any material is entered into a spreadsheet cell. I'm talking about
this sort of thing: when you type=+02(no quotes) into a cell
formatted as Number, you see just 2. The1+1in this case is being
entered into a cell (as part of a formula), not arising as the result
of some calculation.

As you mention, and as I found the evaluate command is what other
spreadsheets have that would seem to handle this, but libreoffice calc
doesn't??

Have just been playing with that GPS to Decimal problem, and was
trying to get a simplier process to do it.

Have made a number of macros, that can do it just fine, but they have
long formulas. Was looking to do it with a set of regex commands.
Commands did what I wanted, but can't get it to calculate the result..

Best I've gotten So Far.
Raw Data in column A

Have a Macro that puts formula in column

But value in macro fails if put around it, and using value on the cell, or even

cell, where the data is copied fails. So, it is not being seen as a formula.
Seems
Value only works on a string that only contains digits and nothing else?? And
as
you said. LibreOffice doesn't have evaluate as others do.So, macro does what I
want, but no way I've found to automatically get it to
convert to the value.
I can do the following steps to get the result I want.
After running the macro I can manually do the following:
F2,F9,CR,HOME,=,CR
That puts the cell in edit mode, then F9 calculates it to the text formula and
enter, the Home to go to the beginning, insert an = to convert it from a text
cell
to an actual format, and then enter to get the final result as digit values.

But again, LibreOffice doesn't have the keypress option to add that.
Other methods work fine, just was trying something different.
Just thought there would be some kind of command to do it..

Additionally, it probable is a flux that value(1+1) worked, probable does
calculation first, and then sees nothing to convert. When it see as string, it
probable checks for non-digits, and thus fails automatically..

Thought there might be something else. Not an issue that effects me, but
thought it would be interesting to figure out..

[libreoffice-users] Confused by err:502??

Tried to use regex to convert info to formula to convert.
Got result that is correct, but try to use value to get number and it 
fails with err:502
If I manually put the value in a cell it works, 
but it I put same value in cell with quotes it also fails.
What am I missing??

Would need more info on the format, but the following calculation 
seems to work to convert the number part. Not sure of the N and 
O, or how - (negative sign) in some work...

Did the following.
Put in Cell A1: 00°05'12"O 42°59'12"N -> 42.9867,-0.0867
In Cell B1: Put the Formula - 
=VALUE(MID(A1,1,2))+VALUE(MID(A1,4,2))/60+VALUE(MID(A1,7,2))/3600
That gives result of 0.087
In Cell C1: Put the Forumula -
=VALUE(MID(A1,12,2))+VALUE(MID(A1,15,2))/60+VALUE(MID(A1,18,2))/3
600
That gives result of 42.98667
So, B1 and C1 are the right numbers kind of, reversed order and 
one should be negative.

So might require some additional work, but the math seems 
simple.

If I understand what you want, and that cells have the date value in them.
See if this is what you are trying to do?
In Cell A1 put =now()
in Cell A2 put =a1+1
Copy A2 to A3:A33
Highlight Range A1:A33
Format/Conditional/Condition
Select Formula is 
Enter Formula WEEKDAY($A1)=1
I added a new style GrayBold that set font to bold, and background to 
gray4
Than OK.

Was looking for options on this, but haven't found exactly what I'm 
looking for.
Closest I've found is Ctrl + ; that inserts current date
and Ctrl + Shift + ; that inserts the current time. 
Both seem to be the fixed value?

But have found no way to do that in a formula??

Recall long ago in either Lotus or Quattro, you could use now() and then 
{Calc} and it would convert the current time to the fixed value. But that 
was long long ago. Macro recorder doesn't seem to record that kind of 
stuff, and entering formulas don't either.

First attempt. List removed the formating and stripped the greater than 
signs?? So, manual turned off rich text, and see what this attempt looks 
like.

If I understand your issue?? Don't know if this will come thru OK.
Put these vaues in row 1 and formula in A2 and B2.
Change Date to my format. Changed values in D1,A1, and G1, and got 
the matching date when it was larger.

[libreoffice-users] Third try - List keeps modifying the message that corrupts the macro.



Worked on creating a macro, and had to change it to two inputs.
Tried to do the single input, but ran into issues splitting it to change order 
and convert , to -?? So simple solution to input each separate.
Hopefully, the email will have the's correctly..

Seems the Server screwed it up again. Saw the post and all the quotes and 
spaces were stripped in lines with them. So not clear why the are being 
changes. Option spaces and lines seem to be oK

So changing lines with quotes to use ~ and _ for spaces?
If someone knows why the list is screwing this up, or how to prevent it??

Hopefully this will get thru ok, with the changes...

[libreoffice-users] Macro to do days hours minutes

List is screwing with the messages by removing quotes and some places 
spaces?? Send myself a copy of message and it is unmodified? So, assume 
is some filter system that is brain dead??


Did a replace of all quotes in macro to ~.
Hopefully, that will go thru, and the other spaces will not be eliminated??

where somehow removed?


In the B2 line the d is suppose to be in double quotes?
Here I took the info, and removed the comments, and changed the quotes to 
~ characters. It also removed the spaces??


Did a test with the following:
In cell A1 =int(now())
in cell A2 =A1+time(1,12,0)
In cell B2 =Datedif($a$1,a2,~d~)f
in cellC2 =A2-$A$1
in cell D2 = (A2-$A$1)-int(a2-$a$1)
in cell E2
=DATEDIF($A$1,A2,~d~)~ days ~TEXT((A2-$A$1)-INT(A2-$A$1),~ H 
~~hours~~ M ~~minutes ~~~)


If spaces are removed again, this is the line with spaces replaced with _
=DATEDIF($A$1,A2,~d~)~_days_~TEXT((A2-$A$1)-INT(A2-$A$1),~_H_~~hours~~_M_~~minutes_~~__~)

In cell A1 =int(now())
in cell A2 =A1+time(1,12,0)
In cell B2 =Datedif($a$1,a2,d)'get days diff
in cellC2 =A2-$A$1'gets HH:MM:SS but hours is total
in cell D2 = (A2-$A$1)-int(a2-$a$1)'gets the hours minutes seconds

Result is like
0 days 1 hours 12 minutes
in e155 after copying7 days 16 hours 48 minutes

The formula in E2 might do what you want??
Did have it in F2 with the additions of seconds, but found the numbers would
get off at points with a second. Probable the rounding factor of second
portion??
