Directory /var/www/trac-cgi AuthType Basic AuthName New TRAC User Authentication AuthUserFile /var/trac/lorno/trac.htpasswd Require valid-user AddHandler cgi-script .py AllowOverride None Options +FollowSymLinks Order allow, deny Allow from all /Directory Wie kann das sein? Re: Authentifizierung gelingt mir nicht
Was sagen denn error_log und access_log dazu? Leider gar nichts, keine Eintraege. Vielleicht hilft http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_log_config.html beim Debuggen. -Original Message- From: Chris Pat [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Dienstag, 11. Oktober 2005 02:33 To: apache Subject: [EMAIL PROTECTED] localhost htdocs access vs external restriction Hello Is it possible to restrict contents of the htdocs directory depending on where the uses is from? I want to give localhost access and either block WAN side access either totaly or directory by directory. Of course. Read http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_access.html for details. Post back if there's anything not clear. I believe it can be done by directory restriction if you are using a domain name. I am not sure on access to htdocs. Not sure I understand the question... By htdocs, I presume you mean the default document root in the config file? Bear in mind that you can change this and that DocumentRoot can be anywhere on your filesystem. Also this is my first time setting up Apache2.05x. Is there a faq or some must enable to protect the htdocs, from ddos, script attacks, remote access. Any recommended faq on securing apache other than the plethora adduced from a web search. tia. http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/misc/security_tips.html Rgds, Owen Boyle Disclaimer: Any disclaimer attached to this message may be ignored. __ Yahoo! RE: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Inbound, Non-HTTP Proxy
I would tend to think that Apache is not suited for your purpose. Once upon a time, there was a little firewall utility called TIS Firewall Toolkit (FWTK) http://www.fwtk.org/fwtk/docs/admin_guide.pdf that probably does what you want. You may be particularly interested in PLUG-GW. -ascs -Original Message- From: Nick Gianakas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 6:57 AM To: users@httpd.apache.org Subject: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Inbound, Non-HTTP Proxy First off, thanks for an excellent server! I wonder if anyone can point me in a direction. I read through the modules on httpd.apache.org and did some cursory Googling to no avail. I'm running a software server which is publicly available on the web (application service provider model). It's a more-or-less typical server that listens for and communicates (bidirectionally and asynchronously) with clients. I use Apache for the web server and this custom server for the application (currently Java, may be C/C++ in the future). Everything works great. I noticed that users who are behind a corporate firewall which only allows HTTP outbound connections cannot connect to the software server (which listens on its own ports). So I'd like to be able to use Apache to act as a proxy for connections to this backend server so clients can (hopefully) get past their firewall. Basically, when a connection arrives, Apache somehow determines if the connection is for the backend server (perhaps via a GET for a particular URL or perhaps a custom request like WOY (instead of GET/POST/etc) ) and then somehow relays the connection and/or the data to the backend server. The backend server maintains a persistent connection with the clients. That is, it's not a strict one-time request-respond-close connection. I suppose it's more like HTTP 1.1 persistent connections, but the client and server communicate asynchronously--very much like a chat server. I saw the proxy module but it's designed for web protocols (HTTP and possibly FTP). I appreciate any help/suggestions/pointers. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Problem with mod_proxy + chunked encoding
Hi, We are currently using the mod_proxy (proxy + reverse proxy) Apache module to forward some HTTP requests to an external HTTP standalone server application. The HTTP clients contacting our front Apache server are using chunked encoding + HTTP POST. Our problem is that when Apache forwards the HTTP requests to the external HTTP application, they are no more chunked, and they don't have any content-length header either. The HTTP application contacted handle correctly chunked requests, or normal requests with content-lenght, but the case of normal requests without content-length is not handled properly :( So, the question is:is there any way to: a) make Apache forwarding HTTP requests without any modification (keep the body chunked). or b) make Apache adding the body content-length, as it knows the total length of the body he as unchunked. Or, maybe if you have any idea of another solution ? Thanks for your help, David.

re[2]: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Configure silent windows [MSI] installation
I don't believe it is - I've foudn out all of the syntax from the MSDN site, as far as I can tell, because it is an MSI file, any configuration must be passed as PARAMETER=VALUE pairs on the command line, e.g. something like msiexec /i /qn apache-blah.msi domain=mydomain.com ... If I am right in thinking this, then the parameters are part of the installer, hence it is an httpd question. I've tried compiling against netscape, sun and mozilla and every time I run configure I get the following warning: checking for ldap_init in -lldap... yes setting APRUTIL_EXPORT_LIBS to -lldap -llber setting APRUTIL_LIBS to -lldap -llber checking for ldapssl_install_routines in -lldap... no checking for ldap_start_tls_s in -lldap... yes checking for ber_init in -llber... yes checking lber.h usability... yes checking lber.h presence... yes checking for lber.h... yes checking for ldap.h... yes checking ldap_ssl.h usability... no checking ldap_ssl.h presence... yes configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: present but cannot be compiled configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: check for missing prerequisite headers? configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: see the Autoconf documentation configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: section Present But Cannot Be Compiled configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result configure: WARNING: ldap_ssl.h: in the future, the compiler will take precedence configure: WARNING: ## -- ## configure: WARNING: ## Report this to the AC_PACKAGE_NAME lists. ## configure: WARNING: ## -- ## checking for ldap_ssl.h... yes When I then try to compile I get an error about TLS not being present. Is there something specific I need to do? Here's my configure: ./configure --enable-mods-shared=all --with-ldap --with-ldap-lib=h-ldap-include=/usr/include/mozilla-1.7.12/ldap --enable-ldap --enable-auth-ldap --with-ssl --enable-so Thanks MarcOn 9/30/05, Ricardo M. These are the steps I took: 1. download and extract httpd-2.0.54 source 2. copy the netscape sdk to srclib/ldap 3; run ./configure --enable-ldap --enable-auth-ldap 4. run make When it gets to the mod_ldap and mod_auth_ldap modules it looks as if it can't find the netscape libraries. Here is the compilation command:First, afaik, you need to give configure the '--with-ldap' option or elseit won't even look into it...There's a bug in the build of mod_ldap that never looks for the netscape SDK and only tries to build with openldap (hence it fails).I just posted a fix for this to the list 3 days ago.I also included apatch so TIMEOUT is also implemented when using the sdk.Note that I had no luck with Sun's released SDK ( 5.06).I did compileMozilla's latest version (5.14 or 5.16 - can't remember) and it works fine(New version of Mozilla's sdk do include ssl functionality now).Basically, to get it to use, look for: srclib/apr-util/includes/arp_ldap.h.inSearch for:/* FIXME: remove this when above code works.Default to build with * OpenLDAP until apu-conf.m4 support exists */#define APR_HAS_OPENLDAP_LDAPSDK 1 #define APR_HAS_LDAP_SSL 1And change it to:/* FIXME: remove this when above code works.Default to build with * OpenLDAP until apu-conf.m4 support exists */#define APR_HAS_OPENLDAP_LDAPSDK 0 #define APR_HAS_NETSCAPE_LDAPSDK 1#define APR_HAS_LDAP_SSL 1Building against the Netscape/Sun/Mozilla sdk, allows you to do failover. But you need to have the TIMEOUT patch in, or else if one of the ldap servers is down (no response) it'll never failover...There are other patches pending for next release 2.0.55 but these Imention are not in (AFAIK).Finally, try to give it a little bit of more options, to help it find stuff: ./configure --with-ldap \--with-ldap-lib=/usr/local/ldapsdk5/lib \--with-ldap-include=/usr/local/ldapsdk5/include \--enable-auth-ldap \--enable-ldap \...
