>From the Kannel guide, take a look in this 2 parameters :

sim-buffering

boolean

Whether to enable the so-called "SIM buffering behavior" of the GSM module.
if assigned a true value, the module will query the message storage memory
of the modem and will process and delete any messages found there. this does
not alter normal behavior, but only add the capability of reading messages
that were stored in the memory for some reason. The type of memory to use
can be selected using the 'message-storage' parameter of the modem
configuration. Polling the memory is done at the same interval as keepalive
(if set) or 60 seconds (if not set). NOTE: This behavior is known to cause
minor or major hiccups for a few buggy modems. Modems known to work with
this setting are Wavecom WM02/M1200 and the Siemens M20.

message-storage

string

Message storage memory type to enable for "SIM buffering". Possible values
are: "SM" - SIM card memory or "ME" - Mobile equipment memory (may not be
supported by your modem). check your modem's manual for more types. By
default, if the option is not set, no message storage command will be sent
to the modem and the modem's default message storage will be used (usually
"SM").

Hope I help

I noticed something in some modem from nokia, whatever you tell kannel to
use the handset memory, you have to wait until the sim sms memory is full
before the "read delete" process is working fine in kannel. It is not a big
issue if you are using dlr because in this case, the sim memory is filling

By the way I noticed another issues with sim card, it appears the sim card

Re: international mobile number formats

2007-09-18 Thread Alejandro Guerrieri
I can tell you about Argentina, for instance.

- Country code is 54.
- City codes are two digits.
- Buenos Aires (the capital) is 11.
- Phone numbers are 8 digits.
- Inside Argentina, use prefix 15 to access a celluar phone from a fixed line.
- Inside Argentina, prefix 15 is optional from another cellphone.
- To call a cellphone from outside argentina, add 9 after the country code.

So, for example, to call cellphone # (11)12345678

>From a fixed line:

15-11-12345678

>From a cellphone on the same city:

12345678 or 15-12345678

>From another city, prefix 0 and 15 after the area code:

0-11-15-12345678

>From OUTSIDE argentina:

+54-9-11-12345678

Last but not least, all of the above only applies to PSTN calls. If
you wish to send SMS, the rules vary somewhat:

To send an sms to any cellphone inside argentina, use full MSISDN, you
can spare the country code. For example, using the same number to send
an SMS:

>From inside Argentina:

11-12345678

>From outside Argentina:

54-11-12345678

So, the 15 and 9 numbers doesn't apply.

Tricky uh? ;)

Hope it helps,

Alejandro

I still don't get what would this be useful for??

And ok, this is a nice compilation of data, but it should be maintained since
numbering plans in the world change every Wednesday and Thursday. Who is going
to maintain it and how will it be useful when numbering plans change? What
about countries that have number portability and you can have land line numbers
ported to mobile operators and vice versa? The complexity is immense ...

I just don't get it...
