smsc parameter been ignored?

2008-04-21 Thread Gerardo Segura

Dear all,
I'm having some problems while trying to send a message explicitly
specifying smsc, either via http request, like this one:

http://localhost:13013/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=tester&password=foobar&from=[removed]&to=[removed]&text=sisi&smsc=smsc_2&dlr-mask=28&account=user_1

or directly inserting in send_sms, with:
  insert into send_sms(momt,sender,receiver,smsc_id,msgdata)
values('MT','[removed]','[removed]','smsc_2','desde sqlbox')

I can not see why both attempts are been sent with another smsc
(smsc_1). But if include smsc=smsc_1 the message is delivered with
smsc_3 !!
Well at list its enrouted to that smsc, there are couple issues with
clickatell support: ain't no way to specify system_id (api_id) and I
think no unicode is allowed, it would be nice to allow raw parameters
to pass from cgi-bin/sendsms to custom http smsc to give flexibility for
eventual api changes. But that is not the main subject of this call for
help :)

here I reproduce the smsc definitions from my kannel.conf file (exact
same order of apperance):

# GSM smsc setup (1)
group = smsc
smsc = at
smsc-id = smsc_1
modemtype = Motorola
device = /dev/ttyACM0
speed = 115200
keepalive = 7200
my-number = [removed]
sms-center = [removed]
sim-buffering = false

# GSM smsc setup (2)
group = smsc
smsc = at
smsc-id = smsc_2
modemtype = Nokia
device = /dev/ttyACM1
speed = 115200
keepalive = 7200
my-number = [removed]
sms-center = [removed]
sim-buffering = false

group = smsc
smsc = http
smsc-id = smsc_3
system-type = clickatell
send-url = http://api.clickatell.com/http
port = 13004
smsc-username = root
smsc-password = youwish

I hope anyone can spot my error or what I'm missing. I really need to be
able to specify smsc.

best regards,
Gerardo

Kannel configuration

2008-04-21 Thread Benmute
Hi,

I have for the last two weeks been trying to configure kannel to send and
receive sms using a normal mobile phone. First I tried using Nokia N70 but it
did not work and later I tried using LG B2000 which also didn't work. The
message am getting is that the message has been queued. Could it be that
Kannnel doesn't support these two phones? Please help because I really need to
have it working as soon as possible.

Regards.

RE: dlr with mysql

2008-04-21 Thread info.ubichip
take a look in the dlr-url and dlr-mask parameter when you send a sms.

basically, you have to put you dlr-mask to 31 to have all the dlr (your
operator have to support as well), and all the dlr will be forward to the
url defined by dlr-url (must be url encoded)

hope it helps

Try to take a look in /var/log/kannel/

Don't forget to make log rotate as well (it is well explained in the

Hope it helps

I am running a flat file system.
All i know is that kannel - bearerbox is occupying 50-80% of cpu time in
top.
And when i stop kannel via init script..it takes a while, but the diskspace
comes back over 5-10 minutes of time.

Re: sqlbox most recent locaiton?

2008-04-21 Thread Alejandro Guerrieri
Use Martin Conte's sqlbox-standalone, it's newer than the CVS version and
compiles as a separate module, so you won't have to patch Kannel core
distribution to build it.

http://www.kannel.org/~mconte/sqlbox/

Hope it helps,

Hi,
TLVs are sent by the operator. If the operator doesn't ask you to
acknolewdge TLVs in any way, it's OK to ignore them. They don't affect
message delivery.

2008-04-21 Thread Michael Habashy
I have a weird situation where kannel is occupying over 142 gig of
diskspace and i do not think it is the log file either.
I just installed and started my kannel package and i realized that my
diskspace was disappearing.
I ran top and realized that kannel was taking a lot of cpu time.
But looked in the usual places and did not find out where the
diskspace was disappearing...
Does anyone know ???
I found out it was kannel -when i actually stopped it from running anymore..
can anyone help ???
thanks

SMS over GPRS modem

2008-04-21 Thread radhika
Hi!

I have configured my kannel gateway to send SMS over GSM modem. But I am not
able to configure "SMS over GPRS" network using a GPRS modem.

My current configuration with GSM modem is:

group = smsc
smsc = at
smsc-id = gsm_modem
modemtype = multitech
device = /dev/ttyS1
keepalive = 30
max-error-count = 5
sim-buffering = true

# MODEM CONFIGURATION
group = modems
id = multitech
name = Multitech
detect-string = "MULTITECH"
speed = 115200
reset-string = "ATZ"
init-string = "AT+CNMI=1,2,0,1,0;+CMEE=1"
no-pin = true

In case of GPRS modem, I will probably have to give a different init-string in
MODEM configuration. Can someone please tell me the complete configuration?

Regards,
Radhika

Fwd: Kannel SMS carrier support?

2008-04-21 Thread Aarno Syvänen

Subject: Kannel SMS carrier support?

If I want to setup and configure Kannel to send SMS messages to
phones on a particular carrier network, what is required to
interface with the carrier.
For example, here in the states I have a phone on Verizon Wireless
network. For Kannel to send a SMS message to my phone I assume it
has to have an interface with Verizon at some point. It will need
to know that my number is served by Verizon wireless.

Is there a doc that explains how all this works?

Thanks
Mike
