Kannel Throughput

2011-01-05 Thread michael osakede
Hi All,

Please view the details from my kannel admin url:

Status: running, uptime 0d 15h 3m 56s

   WDP: received 0 (0 queued), sent 0 (0 queued)

   SMS: received 0 (2 queued), sent 58553 (0 queued), store size 2
   SMS: inbound (0.00,0.00,0.00) msg/sec, outbound (3.99,2.04,1.08) msg/sec

   DLR: received 72167, sent 0
   DLR: inbound (4.10,4.88,1.33) msg/sec, outbound (0.00,0.00,0.00) msg/sec
DLR: 1324495 queued, using mysql storage

I am sending out over 5 SMSC connections, how do I tell my total throughout
from the page above?
Is throughput determined by the provider or my kannel config?

Michael

If you order the SS7 drivers, source codes are included, for your own use.
You can develop what you want.

They are not cheap though.

Another possibility is to sponsor the open source development and drivers
will be submitted to the Kannel community.

No. For that you need SS7 connectivity and kannel doesn't have such drivers.
Besides you would have to have SS7 numbering, lines and HLR, and be a PSP

Permanent EMI connection to a second IP address

2011-01-05 Thread Henrique Rodrigues

Hello,

We're using Kannel with a permanent EMI connection (via keepalive) to a
certain IP address. We've been asked by our provider if we could, in
addition, add another permanent connection to another IP address, using
the same keepalive process. The reason is redundancy.

My question is: if we use alt-host to define the second IP address, will
the connection to the alt-host be always up or will the connection to
the alt-host be only used if the connection to the primary host fails?

If we can't use alt-host to achieve our goal (two permanent connections
to two different IP addresses), what would be the recommended way do it?

Best regards,
Henrique Rodrigues

That's wrong. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to receive *any* DLRs in
smppbox. You specify it as system-id in your clients.txt file. Read smppbox
manual about it.

Yes, it should. But you should watch that opensmppbox connects to sqlbox(S)
with the same smsbox-id as sqlbox(S) to kannel(S), otherwise DLRs will never
reach opensmppbox and from there kannel(C).

Re: can kannel act as SMSC?

Kannel doesn't have ss7 or asterisk drivers.

I am using asterisk-chan_ss7 for SS7 interconnect with SMSC for our voice
circuit.

How can we use this setup? will appreciate any link.

No. For that you need SS7 connectivity and kannel doesn't have such drivers.
Besides you would have to have SS7 numbering, lines and HLR, and be a PSP
(phone service provider).

Hi,

Can i use kannel as stand alone SMSC that can offer connectivity to other
local or remote clients?

or this is just a client that can connect to multiple SMSCs.

Re: kannel+OpenSMPPbox

2011-01-05 Thread Nikos Balkanas
Yes, it should. But you should watch that opensmppbox connects to sqlbox(S)
with the same smsbox-id as sqlbox(S) to kannel(S), otherwise DLRs will never
reach opensmppbox and from there kannel(C).

Hi,

smsc & gsm encoding

2011-01-05 Thread Miroslav Šulc
hi,

i went through documentation and did not see answer for my question, so
asking here. i have configured smsc connection in bearerbox config. the
connection works fine, but atm i use iso-8859-1 encoding. i'd like to
switch to gsm (7 bit) encoding but from the documentation it is not
clear to me whether that encoding is supported and how to configure it.

thanks for any help.
