2010-02-02 Thread Basit56

oh %-| how did it happen. I only posted my minicom settings :confused:.
Anyways now the messages are going again but it's going little late. I think
my modem is right i.e., ttyACMO beacuse earlier there were no such errors
and if any thing wrong happen to my modem then messages should not be go.
Are these are the serious error messages or can i ignore them.

Thanks

Re: message is going but it shows errors messages(error encoding PDU)

2010-02-01 Thread Basit56

Hi,
   I did. When i did minicom -s -c on , it opened a menu and in the serial
port setup option it shows these settings

 ┌───┐
│ A -Serial Device  : /dev/ttyS1
│
│ B - Lockfile Location : /var/lock
│
│ C -   Callin Program  :
│
│ D -  Callout Program  :
│
│ E -Bps/Par/Bits   : 38400 8N1
│
│ F - Hardware Flow Control : Yes
│
│ G - Software Flow Control : No
│
│
│
│Change which setting?
│

└───┘
│ Screen and keyboard  │
│ Save setup as on │
│ Save setup as..  │
│ Exit │
│ Exit from Minicom

So do i need to change my modem from ttyACM0 to ttys1 in my kannel file or
change here from ttys1 to ttyACM0.

Is my mobile connected to ttyS1 modem because here it is showing ttys1 or
it's default settings for minicom.

Thanks

Hi Wahib

I think K500 does not support ME storage. If you want to try it, check CNMI
for the correct values...

 I think it has something to do whith this could not decode PDU to a
 message ... i guess.

 my modems.conf group is

 group = modems
 id = K500i
 name = K500i
 detect-string = K500
 init-string = AT+CNMI=2,3,0,1,0;+CMEE=1
 message-storage = ME
 # PARA TEST:
 keepalive-cmd = AT+CSQ
 reset-string = AT+CFUN=1,0

 and the sms-service group is .

 group = sms-service
 keyword = to
 keyword-regex = .*
 max-messages = 10
 text = hello yaar

 Or there's a problem with my AT+CNMI command ?

 Plz reply ... i am really in need of it.

RE: clearing sim messages (was Re: error encoding pdu)

2008-01-05 Thread Alvaro Cornejo
Hi Ian

Yes and No.

Kannel deletes the messages after it is able to read the incomming message;
however as in this cases, it receives an error regarding no message found,
kannel think there are no messages thus does not delete anything, thus those
messages stay in sim

Asunto: clearing sim messages (was Re: error encoding pdu)

Hi Alvaro,

 Regarding the +CMTI error, I do receive them when the incomming
 message get corrupted somehow -don´t know the reason yet- but it seems
 to be related to another error I get from my modem: SIM BUSY. The
 effect of this is that after all modem memories locations get full,
 the modem stop receiving messages.

 The workarround I use is to stop kannel, read all modem memory
 locations (AT+CMGL) then delete memories (AT+CMGD=x, Where x is the
 memory location to be deleted. Varies according to the modem), then
 start kannel. After that I do manually insert the messages to my
 system in order to process the received message.

hmm in the past i never had to worry about the sim memory because i kannel
seemed to just delete messages as soon as it read them. is that not the
case?

 You might also want to add AT+CMEE=x into modem init string to enable
 modem error verbose to help debugging.

okay i'll try this as well.

cheers

 i can receive/send messages okay so i don't know which PDU or file it's

 the ttyUSB0 file is permissions 777 and as i said i can receive messages
 on the system, however the only problem is that after running for a while
 it takes a really really long time (like 15 minutes) to process messages.

 can anyone shed some light on the situation?

 cheers
