Re: fedora 34 and asus zenbook 13

2021-10-05 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Thanks everyone for the answers and etiquette tips. Upgrade to 35 from
working 34 resulted in black screen after reboot. Tried Fedora 35 live CD -
keyboard did not work through the installation process so I could not set
the encryption passphrase but I decided to proceed and see what happens
next. I do not have any external keyboard at the moment to check with,
tried screen keyboard but it did not appear for this input. The system
booted well with everything working (kernel 5.14.0). It seems that dnf
upgrade and kernel 5.14.9 did not break the system. I have also tried to
install Fedora 34 without disk encryption and then performed dnf upgrade
and everything was also fine. Not sure what I will do next, I have also an
old dell xps 13 laptop with Fedora 34, now I'm a bit scared to upgrade to
5.14.9 and reboot it :). Probably I will try to encrypt the disk manually
and see if it works or try to figure out what breaks the process.

Re: fedora 34 and asus zenbook 13

2021-10-05 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
I am not sure about tpm or shim, I mean I cannot unlock because the
keyboard stops working when I try to boot back to 5.11.12. With 5.14.9 it's
just a black screen. The thing is that before I upgrade to 5.14.9
everything works well on 5.11.12, so kernel upgrade makes something with a
previous kernel as well. I'll probably boot with a live cd and try to check
the logs or maybe compare grub settings before and after upgrade.

fedora 34 and asus zenbook 13

2021-10-05 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Got a new asus zenbook 13 (um325u). Installed Fedora 34 and everything
worked like a charm with kernel 5.11.12. After dnf upgrade (to kernel
5.14.9) got a black screen on reboot, tried to boot previous kernel
(5.11.12) - keyboard and touchpad stopped working, I cannot decrypt
the disk on boot. I am totally confused what's going on, does anybody have
any ideas? I have performed a fresh install again and upgraded the kernel
only (kernel, kernel-modules, kernel-core) and the problem reproduced with
both kernels.

I use pulseaudio at the moment with fedora 34, tried pipewire but had much
headache with bluetooth headphones. However I should admit that HSP/HFP

The printer has always been working before, Canon IR2520. After upgrade to
27 the job is hanging in "Processing" state, and the printers application
crashes. I see some errors in the logs like:

f7d73d33 sp ff962d80 error 4 in libc-2.26.so

and then stack trace:

Nov 24 13:08:33 ksy systemd-coredump[3594]: Process 3364 (gnome-control-c)
of user 1000 dumped core.

Stack trace of thread 3364:

I tried to look for a bug but haven't found any. Does anybody have the same?

Re: python-sipsimple

2017-08-24 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Hi!
I was just wondering if anybody could install it successfully with Fedora
26.

To be honest, I could not find a package, as well as I could not find any
repo for Fedora. Seems there was a package for earlier versions of Fedora,
but now:

sudo dnf search python-sipsimple
Last metadata expiration check: 1:17:42 ago on Thu 24 Aug 2017 10:00:20 AM
+03.
No matches found.
sudo dnf search sipsimple
Last metadata expiration check: 1:17:48 ago on Thu 24 Aug 2017 10:00:20 AM
+03.
No matches found.

So yes, I was trying to build it by myself, I downloaded from git -
https://github.com/AGProjects/python-sipsimple
But I have some troubles with libyuv - have plenty of errors as:

/usr/include/libyuv/convert_argb.h:223:19: error: unknown type name
‘RotationMode’
   RotationMode rotation,
/usr/include/libyuv/scale_argb.h:27:15: error: unknown type name
‘FilterMode’
   FilterMode filtering);

So I just wanted to know if anybody could make Blink working.

I'm not sure if it suspends or sleeps. Suspend is set with the Gnome tweak
tool.
Moreover, when I open the lid I just see black screen sometimes.

Re: problem with latest Viber

2016-11-15 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Hi all!
The truth revealed. It seems that there was some conflict with
compat-openssl which goes with spotify-client (
http://negativo17.org/spotify-client/). At least after this package removal
viber started to work as usual. After spotify-client reinstall I could
reproduce the issue. I have left a comment at spotify repo page. That's
somehow weird however. Maybe this info helps somebody :)

Re: problem with latest Viber

2016-11-10 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
So I have fixed it finally but it was a crazy way to go. I copied my
.ViberPC directory from home laptop to work, then I had to install Viber 4
and connect my account (it was possible when the settings are already
present), then I installed Viber 6, scanned qr code and it seems to work.
Still seems I do not have avatars but doesn't matter in fact. And lol - it
still consumes 300% CPU. At least it sends and receives messages.

Thanks, but your contacts and other settings were already present from an

internet connection.

Re: problem with latest Viber

2016-11-08 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
On my home laptop it's also okay (but i haven't tried reinstall), I
noticed that it started on my work laptop on ipv6 only network (maybe I'm
too suspicious and the reason is different?) so at that time i thought a
complete reinstall can fix that ). But my home and work systems are almost
the same, I'll check deeper tomorrow if i have time. Viber version 4 starts
normally to me but fails then on contacts loading (i guess it's no
supported already or so).
I'm thinking to copy my home config file and see what happens then )

Yes thanks guys, I have already written to Viber support but there's no
exact answer yet and seems they don't have a mailing list. I'm a bit lazy
to try an older kernel :D, I still have some more ideas )) and maybe
support gives some answer finally.
The funniest thing is that it was working before but used 300% cpu and has
problems sending links and images with vpn adapter activated (crazy) for
some reason, that's why i decided to make a complete reinstall which has
broken it completely.

Re: problem with latest Viber

2016-11-08 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Thanks for help anyway, I checked with lsof - seems it's using the right
library

lsof -p 14263 | grep libcurl
Viber 14263 ksy mem REG 253,1511360 1187380
/usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4.4.0
ls -l /usr/lib64/libcurl.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Nov  2 20:21 /usr/lib64/libcurl.so ->
libcurl.so.4.4.0

I have checked this forum also but it's regarding Fedora 20, and the
problem appeared to me with the new kernels (like >4.7 or so). I am not
sure which library version I should try. Also, wouldn't it break other apps
if I use it. I have also tried to delete all config and make a complete
reinstall of the app - no luck.

But no luck. For some reason after a wile autoneg turns on, I do not
understand why. Then it turns off thanx to the script, but the link flaps.

Thank you, Rick.
1) Of course the first thing i did was replacing the cabling, plugging into
another port and even into another switch.
2) I put a script changing autoneg in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/.
But I'll try what you adviced and have a look.

Now something strange happens - auto negotiation automatically turns on
after a while. Cannot distinguish what changes this value. I
added ETHTOOL_OPTS="autoneg off speed 100 duplex full" to the
ifcfg-Wired_connection_1 config. But seems it doesn't work.
Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Realtek r8169 always flapping

2015-10-26 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Tried setting just speed 1000 duplex full - no difference.
After that set speed 1000 duplex full on a switch side - link down O_o.
After changing to 100 everything is working.
Now set ETHTOOL_OPTS="autoneg off speed 100 duplex full" only on my side
(and auto on a switch - standard port config)
No flapping so far on 100Mbps. I think I will use this workaround, still
very strange why it doesn't work properly on 1000, I guess its a kernel
module problem or something like that. If anybody still has any suggestions
about 1Gbps - you are welcome :).

Re: Realtek r8169 always flapping

2015-10-26 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
I tried disabling autoneg, and it helped, but in this case dot1x auth
doesn't work for some reason, I didn't have time to troubleshoot why, but
there is no mac address on a switch port when dot1x is enabled.
But i didn't try setting speed 1000 duplex full on a switch side. I'll try
it tomorrow once again.

Realtek r8169 always flapping

2015-10-26 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Hi everyone!
I noticed in dmesg that my ethernet link is flapping all the time
[Oct25 18:55] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link down
[ +3.131667] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link up
[Oct25 18:56] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link down
[ +2.763688] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link up
[Oct25 18:59] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link down
[ +3.060069] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link up
[Oct25 19:00] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link down
[ +3.559610] r8169 :02:00.0 enp2s0: link up
I changed the cabling, tried to plug into another switch no difference.
Any ideas will be very appreciated as this flapping brings a lot of
inconvenience.

Hi guys! I also had problems with connection to api until I added an api
key in the extension settings. You can get it simply of you register on the
site. http://openweathermap.org/appid

stupid gnome notifications question

2015-09-11 Thread Kseniya Blashchuk
Hi everybody!
I use Fedora 22 with Gnome 3.16. I have installed a gnotifier firefox addon
and started receiving strange mail notifications (attached). They became
really abusive so I decided to turn them off. Disabling and even removing
the add-on didn't help. I also use gnotifier for thunderbird, and it sends
separate mail notifications, so that's not thunderbird. I tried disabling
all notifications from firefox and thunderbird in the Gnome settings - no
luck. Seems that something else causes them to appear (but what??). Does
anybody have any ideas?
Any help is appreciated.[image: notify.jpg]
